Story
Here is the story of Klara, an Artificial Friend with outstanding observational qualities, who, from her place in the store, watches carefully the behavior of those who come in to browse, and of those who pass on the street outside. She remains hopeful that a customer will soon choose her. Klara and the Sun is a thrilling book that offers a look at our changing world through the eyes of an unforgettable narrator, and one that explores the fundamental question: What does it mean to love?

Weird story.

Not sure how I feel about it yet although it seemed to me to be like a young person’s book. It was an interesting concept, but very simple and not very deep. A lot of strange descriptions that I guess were meant to explain a robot’s observational abilities. I guess I expected more from a Nobel laureate?

Story
Welcome to Ringworld, an intermediate step between Dyson Spheres and planets. The gravitational force created by a rotation on its axis of 770 miles per second means no need for a roof. Walls 1,000 miles high at each rim will let in the sun and prevent much air from escaping. Larry Niven's novel, Ringworld, is the winner of the 1970 Hugo Award for Best Novel, the 1970 Nebula Award for Best Novel, and the 1972 Ditmars, an Australian award for Best International Science Fiction.

Sometimes dated after 50 years, but still fascinating and a great listen. I loved the narrator’s different vocalizations field each character, they came to life.

I adore her outlander series, but for some reason this didn’t grab me like the others. It took me weeks to finish it because I’d forget.

Story
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Untuck this recording quality

I love the author’s performance, very few authors narrate their own work well. And her naughty language makes it entertaining to say the least. Also her purposeful use of bad language resonated with me and highlighted what she was teaching.
My biggest complaint is the quality of the recording. It’s like she recorded it her echoey bathroom on her iPhone. Not even the ear buds mic, just the phone speaker. Kind of takes away from the listening experience a bit.
As for the subject matter, I don’t think she’s saying anything really new, I think it’s just her approach and how she relates to the listener which I think helps the information make more sense, and being more entertaining, I think makes her points “stick” better.
Bottom line, I recommend the book, especially if you have a foul mouth lol.

Got this on a lark, since I like werewolf stories. It’s actually really GOOD. I expected it to be silly, but it’s not, just really funny and entertaining. Andy Rausch is an excellent writer, and obviously inspired by Quentin Tarantino.
The narration by Art Brown is excellent, he makes Joe D’Amato come to life in all his pathetic a-holery,. He reads it straight, no tongue-in-cheek or wink-wink, which makes it even funnier. His voice characterizations, along with his Brooklyn accent makes it all.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, and recommend it.

I got this one because I liked his other book, Savage Brooklyn, so much. It’s definitely more serious than that one, especially because of the subject matter, and more violent, definitely inspired by Quentin T. I cringed in a lot of places, but only because of the language coming out of the mouths of the racist a-holes.
Again, the narration by Art Brown is really good. I don’t know from regional accents, but I think Mr. Brown really made the characters come to life with his voicing of each one. You always know who’s speaking. You immediately get lost in the story!
Ultimately a very satisfying book, and I definitely recommend! I look forward to more collabs from Andy and Art.
