And it beats for the return of Barnabas!
All well and good but Barnabas has a short appearance. The voice actor for the late Joathan Grid is mesmerizing in just those bare minutes. I wish I knew who that was but I have yet to figure out where that info is on this Audible Magnificence.
Onto Dark Shadows The House of Temptation!

My obsession wakens!
Reviewed: 10-23-19
I was one of a million 2nd generation of kids that watched the syndicated show along with The Munsters, The Addams Family, and the original Star Trek.
Barnabas was for my dark heart and Captain Kirk was for my light heart.
So, it was with a giddy heart that I found these audiobooks. This was my first of the recorded series and you know I will be buying more.
Ms. Scott's voice is a pleasant one to listen to. I listened in bed at night and it was like listening to my mother reading to me at night.
The story is about the young, pretty girl that is unfortunately crippled, Greta Collins. Greta falls in love with Barnabas who treats Greta simply as a woman. He does not mind her infirmity.
And here beginneth the spiral towards tragedy.

Story
Make sure the kids aren’t around! Just because you’re a grown-up doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the art of the children’s bedtime story. Nick Offerman presents this collection of 12 short stories written in the style of a classic kids' tale, but with a decidedly dark and adult approach. What really happened after Snow White died, from the perspective of the one medically trained dwarf? A naive wizard professor reports back from the trenches of an underprivileged school of magic. And much more!

Just not enjoyed

I guess I just don't like Offerman's sarcastic "I-know-better-than-you" voice. It was annoying to hear him before each story.
I didn't think much of the stories either. Not a one really stood out.
For me, this was best to be put to sleep by.

Story
Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.

In a word... Excellent

This was as exciting to listen as the movies were to watch. I've always loved Lance Hendrickson's voice and this was a treat to have him "read" the story to me.
I loved hearing Michael Biehn's voice as Lt. Gorman.
This was a great Original!
