Story
What do you do when God meets your prayers with silence? The acclaimed author of Red Moon Rising wrestles with the hard side of prayer, how to respond when there seem to be no answers, and how to cope with those who seek to interpret our experience for us. For those struggling with prayer, God on Mute brings a message of hope and comfort, but also a better understanding of how we communicate with our Creator.

Surrender and stand firm knowing God is with me through it all. Life is hard, but Gods silence does not mean His absence, is one of the most encouraging things the author points out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Alex Wyndham brought the main character to life and gave great rhythm to the presentation.
The story is original and yet comfortably typical. It is surprisedly funny and has a feel of reading a personal journal in which the writers personality shines through.
Already started the second book and I am liking it even more.
Well done!

Mediocre storyline saved by a great performance by the narrator. Little plot development with way too much repetition on the thoughts of the two main characters. The climax was a bit of a surprise but only because there was no warning in the storyline.

Favorite of Lavender Series...so far
Reviewed: 02-10-21
I recently found this series and have not left a review until now. I have enjoyed following the development of these characters and the original plots. This one has been my favorite so far.
The performance was well done, though I did deduct a star due to the fact that occasionally, it was hard to tell the characters apart because the voice use was so similar. It made it slightly confusing. However, this was not often and overall was an excellent performance.
I highly recommend this book (and series) to any who enjoy historical mystery.

Chevalier Maël D’Argent lost more than his striking looks when he aided the Duke of Normandy in taking the English throne from King Harold. As much by his own actions at the Battle of Hastings as those of the enemy, he lost his sire and his honor in breaking faith with his family. Believing himself unworthy of forgiveness, his ruined face the least due him, Maël now serves a ruthless man bent on subduing Saxons resistant to Norman rule.

I have passed over purchasing this book several times for another that seemed more my interest. I made a grave mistake by not listening to this sooner. The story was rich and engaging. The characters entertaining and intelligent. The plot was unexpected. I loved every minute of this book.
The cherry on top of this delicious story was the amazing narrator. I rarely enjoy women narrators and actually passed this over initially because of that. However, I was wrong in this too. I will be looking for more books by this author and/or narrator from now on. Extremely well done!
