This book gave me a lot of insight into how the government works, and its short comings. I found it interesting to listen to her stories and her experience. That alone was worth it for me. Great narration.

What a great book. It had a simple topic with great stories that illustrated the points he was making. I felt like his book was structured in a way that I could feel the evolution of his discovery of how valuable check lists can be. I enjoyed every story and particularly liked his writer style. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to have a greater impact in any field.

Sweet and heartfelt but disappointing
Reviewed: 11-27-23
I had high hopes for this book after reading the reviews, but was disappointed by where it ended . The whole story never got to any intimate moment between the main characters.
The story also revolved around a lovely older lady that eventually passed away and it was nicely described in the book but it was sad at times.
The narrator was excellent.

Story
Stranger in a Strange Land is the epic saga of an earthling, Valentine Michael Smith, born and educated on Mars, who arrives on our planet with “psi” powers—telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, telekinesis, teleportation, pyrolysis, and the ability to take control of the minds of others—and complete innocence regarding the mores of man. After his tutelage under a surrogate father figure, Valentine begins his transformation into a kind of messiah.

Weird, interesting & brilliant
Reviewed: 11-14-23
My mother who grew up in Romania recommended that I read this book. She said that it had a very big impact on her generation and I can understand why. It’s a brilliant piece of work. The author had a lovely sense of humor that makes the reading light and very funny at times.
This story keeps moving and revealing many lessons on how us humans work and live. It’s very eye opening and the grasp the author has on humanity it very masterful.
The characters are well rounded and well written.
I attribute the weirdness in this book to the weirdness in our society and mankind that we overlook but that it casually highlighted in the story.
I have been doing self development/awareness work for over 10 years now and I could relate to the discoveries that Mike was making about humanity as well as some of his “Martian”abilities as something possible for us humans if we learn to cultivate our mind and develop ourselves.
In all, I am grateful to have read this book. I feel that it was enriching and perhaps something I need some time to “Grawk”
The narration. Could not have been better. It brought the story to life and each character had their voice.
I recommend this book.
FYI : For anyone looking for an effective self awareness course I would recommend looking into the Avatar Course.

I prefer another book in the series. I liked Meg from book 3 and was excited to hear her story but the male character was inconsistent. At times he was smart and charming and at other times he seemed like an introvert that was overly mental. I was also not a fan of the plot and the Villain in this story. Overall it was enjoyable but I would no necessarily recommend it.
