Publisher's summary

USA Today bestselling author Vivienne Lorret continues her charming new trilogy with a bluestocking whose search for information on the mating habits of scoundrels has her stumbling upon the missing heir to an earldom...in the London underworld.

Jane Pickerington never intended to start a brawl in a brothel. She only wanted to research her book. Yet when her simple study of scoundrels goes awry, she finds herself coming to the rescue of a dark, enigmatic stranger… who turns out to be far more than an average rake out for a night of pleasure. He's positively wild!

Only the most feral and cunning could have survived foundling homes and work houses. Orphaned as an infant, Raven never had another name. At least… not until he meets her. Now he's face-to-face with the one person who recognizes the strange birthmark on his arm and can reinstate him to his blue-blooded birthright.

All at once, Raven's life takes a turn. His knowledge of dark alleys and gaming halls never prepared him for gilded ballrooms. So Jane becomes his tutor. Yet, the more lessons in decorum she offers, the more this untamed scoundrel wants to teach her all the ways to be wicked.

My Kind of Story

Thank you, Vivienne Lorret for another entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable romance novel! I have enjoyed this series immensely and though I am fairly new to audible books I have already declared Justine Eyre as my favorite narrator! Vivienne and Justine are an unbeatable team in the romance genre!

Great quips and humor

I loved this book best... until the end( Spoiler Alert).., I love happy endings, but it was a very cold ending and do much reveled in the last few minutes verses a gradual build. I was wholeheartedly giving this story a 5 until the end.

Amusing, but not quite…

I loved the performance at times, but sometimes the narration was lacking the kind of quality of different character voices normally expected.
The story line is interesting and starts out strong, but fizzles out towards the end. Would have preferred there to be a bit more story at the end… like an epilogue. I am left with the feeling of a work rushed to a conclusion and yet, somehow, incomplete.

On the fence

I have to say I’m on the fence with this one. I enjoyed the story and there were plenty of moments where the heroine had me laughing out loud. However, the story itself I was missing something. It seems as if there was a lot of preparation for the hero to be a member of nobility even before his identity was revealed to his grandfather. In fact I would say over half of the book was geared towards either grooming him for the role or finding out if he was actually nobility. It became quite tedious at times when I want it him to come on out with it. And then I felt the mystery surrounding him and how he survived was played out too long. It was a drip, drip, drip kind of thing with a lot of dead ends and a rushed ending to wrap everything up with a tidy little bow. On the whole I enjoyed the story but there were parts that just didn’t make sense to me.

Fantastic story

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The main characters were strong and smart and heartfelt. I enjoyed the story and their interactions.
The narrator is so professional and so good at bringing each character to life. Excellent. I’m going to get all the books in this series.
