Publisher's summary

In USA Today bestselling author Vivienne Lorret’s latest romance, a young lady engages in a steamy flirtation with a bespectacled, studious duke while on holiday, only to return with more than just memories...

After being jilted, Margaret Stredwick has sworn off men and marriage. What she needs is a holiday. But a detour along the way takes a surprising turn that leads Meg to him. And soon she starts to wonder if she should indulge in one grand flirtation before she’s firmly on the shelf.

The instant Lucien Ambrose, Duke of Merleton, finds a strange woman touring the halls of his ancient estate, he knows the minx is up to something. So, when a family heirloom is stolen, it’s clear who the culprit is. She may tempt him beyond reason, but he isn’t about to let her get away, even if he has to chase her across the continent.

Meg never imagined that anyone would mistake her for a notorious thief, known for seducing men to distraction. It’s the most thrilling thing ever! She eagerly plays along. . . until she finds herself falling in love with a man who has no idea who she really is. And by the time she returns to her ordinary life, she discovers that her grand flirtation won’t be a secret for long. Apparently, she brought home an unexpected souvenir...

They stretched this story about 3 hours too long

Too much silliness and misunderstanding. It went on much too long. The missed opportunities to clear things up were over the top and annoying

Overall enjoyable.

I prefer another book in the series. I liked Meg from book 3 and was excited to hear her story but the male character was inconsistent. At times he was smart and charming and at other times he seemed like an introvert that was overly mental. I was also not a fan of the plot and the Villain in this story. Overall it was enjoyable but I would no necessarily recommend it.
The narrator was excellent

Fate & Romance

Although the heroine did dither WAY too much in the last third of the book about having a conversation, the entire story & its characters were wonderful. Their love and attraction was wholly believable & the storyline drawing from Arthurian myth gave it a little bit of depth. The narrator's child voice, auntie voices, & male voices were each distinct enough to make listening to this story engaging. The passage of time near the end was a bit of a jump in believability, but it's a story - and it made sense overall. Enjoy!

Pleasant Surprise

What a wonderful book. First let’s talk about the narrator, not one time while listening did I give a thought about the narrator’s ability. This a due to her exceptional skill. Secondly the story was original with a balance in all the right places. Moved along well. Was sad to see it was finished.

I can’t get out of this screen. I am too
Tired to write a review right now.! Good story. Thanks.! Fell asleep a few times because I am in the hospital and just had surgery. If you let me write when I am feeling better I would probably write something nice.

Fun!

I loved this book! This was a really fun adventure and romance.

Meg and Lucien’s flirtation across Europe subsequent Meg’s souvenir made for a great love story, although I did not find Lucien’s rigid adherence to logic as endearing as Meg did.

Intelligent Banter between Meg and Lucien

I loved the plot because there a little mystery with the romance. As usual Justine Eyre performance was exceptional. A good end to the mating habits of scoundrel series 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

The Weakest of the Series

Way too long and a silly storyline that didn’t resonate . I should have skipped this one - but I loved the rest of the series.
