Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

Reservations About Content
Reviewed: 08-14-24
I liked the storyline but when you’re about 3/4 way through it turns into way too much sex and explicit content. If that bothers you (as it did me) then don’t start this book.

I absolutely loved this book! Especially enjoyed the parallel story line and how it enhanced this backstory into the events of the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping and rescue. And the incite into the Mormon culture was especially helpful to understanding how the pieces all fit! An excellent read.

How can something do awful be so uplifting?!

What an example of resilience and hope! I loved the spirit in which this unspeakable tragedy was recounted. You felt the evil of Elizabeth’s captors as she recounted the experience but you were always aware of her courage, her character, and her awareness of her faith and value and importance of family throughout this horrific ordeal. Thank you, Elizabeth, for being a beacon of light for others who have suffered.

The death of Judd Foxman's father marks the first time that the entire Foxman family - including Judd's mother, brothers, and sister - have been together in years. Conspicuously absent: Judd's wife, Jen, whose 14-month affair with Judd's radio-shock-jock boss has recently become painfully public. Judd joins the rest of the Foxmans as they reluctantly submit to their patriarch's dying request: to spend the seven days following the funeral together.

What a marvelous tale! The intricacy of moving timelines was woven like silk threads through a fabric. There aren’t enough stars to give to this book. Truly one of the best I’ve read. Amy Harmon has become one of my new favorite authors. And the performances of Sasquatch and Will Danton were simply superb. I feel like I’ve been on a magical trip to Ireland with Anne & Thomas and that I knew the little boy, Owen, as well as the Grandfather, Owen. The ending was completely unexpected for me. I’ve read a couple of Novels by Amy Harmon but I will now be devouring everything she’s written.
