When Jackson’s girlfriend, Doli, vanishes during a visit to Black Mesa, he knows he needs Dustin’s help. Rumor has it that a skinwalker—a creature of legend and nightmares—has taken her. the AI narration was a little tough with this one, because it's a rich and vibrant story that lacked verbal inflection from the narrator. but still a good listen.

These Used to Be Better

The narration is perfect, as always. But these books used to be deliciously suspenseful stories with a note of sexual tension. Now, it's become the entire crutch that the story rests on. It's been disheartening to see such a fantastically written series become dime store garbage.

Story
In the forgotten town of Red Fox, a Navajo couple is tortured by things unseen and by motives unknown. Wild animals slink through their house in the dark, a barrage of stones pound their roof nightly, and mutilated sheep carcasses are turning up on their property. Armed with a camera and just enough to go on, Perry and Dex travel to the desolate locale, hoping to film the supernatural occurrences and add credibility to their flailing webcast.

Well Written, Anxiety Inducing

The author did an excellent job of channeling the paranoia of losing her mind. There may be spoilers ahead, so read at your own peril.
The absolute only issue that I have with this book is that they never circle back to *why* Emma stopped sleeping. I understand that her mother mirrored her symptoms, but the root cause is never brought up. If everything is a prism, reflecting the future events, what caused her initial insomnia?
The author was exceptional with imagery, emotional impact, and the narrator was wonderful. Overall a very well done story and performance.
