Great Story, but the narrators

It’s not that the narrators were bad, they are very good. They are just in no way the characters. J Kenner usually nails the voices for her characters and these books just did not get the voices they deserved. I wanted to love these 3 books, I hoped the narration would grow on me. It didn’t and left me feeling blah about the series. I have listened to most of her books multiple times but can never see myself listening to this one again. The voices just didn’t match the characters she brought to life in the books.

Different Narration would have made this book a 5

I love every book I have ever listened to from J. Kenner but this one just never got to me. I finished it and will give book 2 the chance. I think it was the narration that just didn’t give the magic to the words she wrote. I think a different female narrator and a dual narration for Devlin character with a strong male lead would have me giving this all 5 stars.

Great story but not the right Hudson

James Patrick Nelson is a great narrator, but was just not right for Hudson. His voice is better for a character in his mid 40s so it was hard to get through the audiobook.
