About this listen

This is a full-length companion novel to the New York Times best-selling Fixed Trilogy. It is not meant to be read as a stand-alone. "I can easily divide my life into two parts - before her and after." Hudson Pierce has led a life few others could even imagine. With money and power at his fingertips, he's wanted for almost nothing. He's never experienced love, however, and he's seen few examples of it in his dysfunctional family. The ridiculous notion of romance has always intrigued him. He's studied it, controlled it, manipulated it, and has yet to understand it. Until he meets Alayna Withers. Now, the games he's played in his quest for comprehension can finally come to an end. Or are they just beginning? Told from his point of view, Hudson fills the holes in his love story with Alayna Withers. His past and relationship with his long-time friend Celia is further revealed and light is shed on his actions during his courtship with Alayna. Must be read after The Fixed Trilogy. Book One: Fixed On You Book Two: Found in You Book Three: Forever with You Companion: Hudson

Glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews

I'm glad I used my extra credit to read this fourth book in the series. I did have to speed up the narration, since the speaker spoke so slowly. And, I skipped the chapters about the before story. Just wasn't interested in that. But, the rest of it was great.

Sigh

I love, love, looooooovvvvveeeee this series :)
The best part was the Hudson book, because hearing his innermost thoughts while he fell in love and grew into an amazing, loving, romantic, sexier than hell MAN... was quite a treat ( to say the least ) lol.

Enjoy ladies ;)

WOW, this narrator has a mesmerizing voice.

Hudson, narrated by "James Patrick Nelson" is the very best audible book I have listened to. I immediately googled him to see if he had narrated other books and lo and behold this is the only book he has put his amazing voice to so far. Laurelin this man in my humble opinion is a treasure find. His perfect voice kept me mesmerized for almost 7 hours at a time, I swear I didn't even take a potty break. The story of Hudson is so interesting and fits and fills into the Slay series to perfection even though he is part of the fixed series which after reading "Fixed On You", I am sorry to say didn't draw me into it, but Hudson is needed to truly understand Celia not only in the Fixed series but to fill in what is needed to understand her in the Slay series. These three characters you created Celia, Hudson, and Edward are so complicated, flawed, and interesting keeping me totally involved. I am inrolled in audible books and audible escape books like never before because of your interesting stories.

Female voices

It's hilarious having a man try to sound like a woman. My first audio book.

Hudson was a complex character

I liked the complexity of Hudson. I agreed with another reviewer that you should not read this book until you read the others. I jumped ahead after the first book because I needed to see if this man was a true sociopath. I learned, from research, that there are different degrees of sociopathic behavior. Hudson clearly fit into one. It disturbed me that at one point in the book Hudson said his games were not meant to hurt people which was exactly what they did. If he really existed, you could do a case study on his personality disorder. I felt like the author left out a lot of key things in the book which I will have to read the other books to get the full story. Also, Hudson got a little whiny after a while. It felt like he had the obsessive disorder not Laynie. All in all, I really enjoyed the book. I would recommend it.

Rounds out the story

The trilogy was good but this makes what was very one sided complete. It should not be listened to until after the trilogy is finished. It leaves you satisfied.
