I was disappointed with this story. The female narrator sounded to old to be a teenager or 20 something woman.

Audrey was abused but grew up to be a coward who hid from life but thought she was so smart and worldly. She thought she was tough but didn't know the first thing about how to be a grown up and stand on her own two feet. She thought drinking the whiskey her father drank and having sex made her mature but it really just showed how immature she was.

Jax was a guy who always thought he knew everything, his way was the only way. He thought he could come and go as he pleased in Audrey's life and she would be waiting for him when he decided to return. He claimed he loved her his whole life but he truly didn't know how to treat her and he never really shared his love with Audrey until he was in the mood and was good and ready..

So sad that this book turned out to be a dud. I really wanted to like it.

I tried to listen to this whole book hoping it would get better but it just kept getting worse. Maybe the fact that I'm not a teenager affected my opinion, I don't know. I only got about halfway through. Maybe if there was some of the guys point of view to explain some of what they were doing it wouldn't have been so bad. The girl just kept getting more ridiculous. Once she made the ridiculous decision she did to completely change her life instead of being reasonable I could listen to anymore of it. .

Why do you have a man reading a female's POV?

This entire book so far has been about Gabriella. It has been her point of view completely, yet a man is reading it and not trying to sound at all like a woman. He has a nice voice and had this book included Edwards POV I may have enjoyed him but I just can't listen to this book anymore. I never quit on books but I didn't even get through the first one in this series.

This book started pretty good, sort of a strong woman, decent guy. Then at the end she turned into the same weak ninny most of the other books have. I am so sick of women who just take the man back after then did something stupid. Just welcomes the man back with no apologies or explanations.

Very disappointing

Thank you Lauren Blakely for giving me a book I have longed for. I always say I wish they would start having someone for each voice, more like a play. I was so excited to hear all the different voices in each chapter.

I hope you do more like this.

What made the experience of listening to Part Time Cowboy the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the story line but I wish I had read the book instead. The narrator sounded to mature. I felt like I was listening to someone my mothers age talking about sex, not enjoyable to me.

What didn’t you like about Lillian Thayer’s performance?

Her voice was too mature to be reading this type of book.
