Stats (and spoilers)
Reviewed: 12-04-24
What I can say is that if you like a whole lot of stats with very little story this is the one for you.
I've made it to the 3rd book in this series and the story that we do actually get is decent but feels like every 5 seconds he is talking about stats. Like I love LITPG novels but seriously the amount the stats are talked about is overwhelming. In book format this probably wouldn't be as big a deal because you could skim over it but for it to be read out loud is irritating to say the least.

Story
Psychic M.J. Holliday finds herself in a witchy situation. When M.J. and her friends travel to a small town near Edinburgh, Scotland, to film the first installment of their new cable TV show Ghoul Getters, they find plenty of spooky action in a series of supposedly haunted caverns. But when they discover the body of a maintenance worker, the cause of death is reminiscent of an old legend involving a witch's wrath.

Why make MJ out to be an idiot? That's basically what this whole book this time was. The other installments were written 100x better than this.
Also if your gonna put a romance in there why make her cheat? Like seriously 🙄 😒 😐 Not a fan even remotely. I probably won't continue this series from here even though I love ghost stories. Specifically this genre of ghost stories. Loved the first couple books but seriously the author continuisly making MJ into an idiot is beyond me. And again why the cheating?? The MJ from the first installments would have never cheated on Steven. Plot holes for days. It's a toss up if I'll continue or not and hope that it gets better like the first books were but I dont know right now. Still kinda mad at how this one went down.

I earned my reputation among magicians for a reason: one wrong move and you're dead. Killer, they called me, and killing is what I'm best at. Except her. The one I was supposed to take, the one I should have killed–I didn't. The cult that once controlled me wants her, and I'm not about to lose my new toy to them.

A certain college girl who's loved books ever since she was a little girl dies in an accident and is reborn in another world she knows nothing about. She is now Myne, the sickly five-year-old daughter of a poor soldier. To make things worse, the world she's been reborn in has a very low literacy rate and books mostly don't exist. She'd have to pay an enormous amount of money to buy one.

Not the Best
Reviewed: 11-21-23
The best part about this series anymore is Olaf, in my opinion. There has seriously been way too much rambling. I'm beginning to believe she doesn't have an editor to proofread the books before publishing them. We do not need to be taken down memory lane on everyone. We know who the characters are at this point. We are 30 books in.
Also, it is a book you don't need to delete parts. If you wanted to make the book 20 hrs long, trust me, no one is going to complain it's not like it's a movie. There isn't an actual time limit you need to have for a book, and I believe the author has forgotten that.
Stop rushing the good parts and prolonging the talking about the emotion part. it's just getting repetitive and boring. Not to mention making Anita look like a cry baby. She is supposed to be a strong female character, and she once was, but not anymore. Anymore, she just looks like a clueless damsel in destress waiting for someone else to come fix all her problems. I hope the next installment we get some of her spark back with less rambling because if it's not better, I honestly don't know if I will continue with this series any further.

"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Love this Series!!
Reviewed: 06-26-23
So first, I need to say that I have already read the actual books up to book seven, so I might have spoilers in my review.
I love this series so much, the world, the characters, the culture, the plot. All will eventually come together. Stick with it. I PROMISE you will not be disappointed. The main characters are the main characters for a reason. Yes, they do start off as winey annoying females in the beginning, but trust me, they do, in fact, start to grow and mature throughout the series.
I have read thousands of books, and I can honestly say the writing and world building in this series is just amazing. And yes, I can say that when the author goes off with new side characters, it's a little hard to be able to stay interested, but trust me eventually they will become a big part of the plot and eventual development of the series. The author writes everything in this series a certain way for a reason.
This is no big action, constantly fighting type book. Yes, there are slow parts that focus on character development and what happens in the day to day life. Honestly, I can say it's a relief. Yes, in most RPG books you have leveling and fight scene after fight scene, but this series has that element that you can slow down and just enjoy the day to day life of the characters as they try to struggle and make their way in this dangerious world they got thrown into.
Now I need to say they could not have picked a better voice narrator if they had tried. She's amazing! She absolutely brings the characters to life, and I will be extremely disappointed if they change the narrator in later books of the series like they have to so many others on this app.

Love the series so much, but seriously, she didn't resolve anything with Olaf. I was so happy he was back in the story, but yet again, nothing. I like Olaf's character growth and have started to really like his growth overall throughout the series. Feels like it's just left in limbo now, and out of all the books, this one irritates me the most.
Side note: Please, for the love of God, figure out if you want Anita to be a SMART MC or an IDIOT. For someone who claims to be so smart, you make her do the dumbest shit. You can't blame everything on anger.
Side side note: Please stop over explaining stuff that was already explained in previous books. if someone has read this far, we all already know. We do not need the recaps anymore. We don't have short-term memory loss.

Story
You'd think I'd get used to seeing such a beautiful man and knowing he was mine, but it never grew old, as if his beauty and the fact that he was mine, and I was his, would forever surprise me. With a vampire like Jean Claude around, it's far too easy for Anita Blake to doubt her own appearance - and the hold it has on those who love her. But one hot tub and two incredibly sexy men - Jean Claude and Asher - will make her feel like the most lusted-after woman alive...or undead. Not bad for a mere human....

I get that this series was written a while ago but does Anita ever have anal like seriously. There is way to much sex and way to many men not to have even one scene. This short book would have been perfect to address this issue.

So far have enjoyed this series however..
Reviewed: 02-07-23
Just to start this, I just wanna say I really enjoy this series so far. The world building gets bigger and better with every book without becoming a huge jumbled mess. The story is thought out, and you can tell that no detail is missed. However, this is were my but comes in.
Please stop monologing every other paragraph. The story is great, but we don't need to know every single time he has a thought that goes on forever. It was okay for when he was alone, but around other characters, it takes away from him actually having conversations that can easily move the story along.
Now, the next complaint I have. I get that it's a book about fighting and growing stronger, but come on, we don't need to know every single little fight with the weaklings. A couple of sentences to say he fought them and won would suffice. Balance between fighting and character building (not just the main character) is very important. (Side note: I love Au Gros's character).
All in all, that's my main complaint. It's not going to stop me from reading the next books. I just hope that he gets out of his head more in the future. And cuts down the fights scenes to move the story along a little more.

Good till the end
Reviewed: 01-24-23
Was a decent listen till the end, then of course had to ruin it by making it like every other book. So predictable. The story was rushed pretty much the entire time. No moments for the two MC to actually get to know one another. If I could I would give the story itself 0 stars but the narrotators did an amazing job. Overall I do not recommend you waste your time or money on this one 🤷♀️
