I’m left pretty devastated that the next book isn’t out yet and I’m forced to wait. I don’t normally do this to myself and I’ll usually wait until a series is complete but I had waited long enough to pick up this series and I’m left shocked that a series could manage to find a way into my heart the way these books have so far. I am hoping that the next book really comes through and is a bit longer. This book was a bit short and left me a little wanting but other than that this series picked me up out of a big book slump. I felt all the feelings that a lot of books just don’t make you feel. No one says words quite as sweet a tormented man who loves someone he’s forbidden. Kai is giving major Mr Darcy. He has bewitched me. Absolutely loved it!

Story
In the world of Warbreaker, each person is born endowed with the power of one Breath―which can be sold and collected by others, then used to Awaken objects and even corpses to do their bidding. A few individuals who die in glory return as gods, with the power of thousands of Breath, but no memory of their mortal lives―and are enthroned in the Court of Gods in Hallandren’s capital. To Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris, the abuse of Breath and the claim of the Returned to be gods are repugnant blasphemy.

The most underrated series
Reviewed: 01-09-24
I don’t think SJM understand the chokehold this series holds on me. Even after reading everything else she writes times 2-3 times, I’m still stuck on this storyline. I wish she would invest more here than ACOTAR. Regardless, WORTH THE READ. The narrator also has me ruined for all others. Honestly, it doesn’t get any better for me.

SJM legit puts crack in these books. I actually really loved having Stina Nielsen read this book. She’s a passionate reader and for a character as passionate as Nesta, I believe she did her justice. She brings so much emotion and power to Nesta’s character. I can’t wait for the next book!!

I normally get bored with a series after the first couple books, but I simply can’t get enough of this story! Things stay interesting and I love how the writer keeps the reader on their toes by not revealing the entire story and almost keeping it like mystery to be solved while reading. Can’t recommend enough!
