About this listen

Sarah J. Maas' sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

All heart eyes

Rating this book purely on my feelings. I’m not gonna lie and say it was some masterpiece and that’s why it’s got five stars. But I am gonna say I yelled at my family to leave me alone all day to read this and was very mean when they didn’t comply. And I laughed, got a little teary and totally was rooting for my babies in this story so my enjoyment was five bright stars.

A little different from the rest

If you're looking at the reviews for this book I assume that you have read the rest. If not I definitely would give them a shot the story is great.
This being said this book is a little bit different from the rest of them.
1. it has a new point of view, changing from Fayrah to Nesta
2. It's it splits the book in between 2 characters narrating, so can be a little bit confusing at times. Most of the time you can figure out who's talking
3. It is a lot dirtier then any of the others

These series does a good job of giving a great fantasy oriented story line without cutting out romance and sex, however there are parts of this particular book that get so dirty and detailed that that I can see some people being a little off put by it. Now this does not mean that the 1st 3 books don't have these type of scenes, no they do, but these sexy scenes seem to come around almost every 3 to 4 chapters. I don't mind this in a book, but I feel like I should put it in my review as a fair warning in case some people don't feel comfortable listening to someone in depth explain a sex scene.
I know some people have bitched about the voice actor changing once again, however I feel like it was in very good decision to change the voice actor due to the fact that we're switching to a new perception. Also she doesnt suck, shes a little odd at times with her acting of some characters, but not terrible as some reviews have put.
This book in terms of story is almost a combo of the first 2 books. Similar to the first one, here there is not much of a conflict or action that physically happens to the characters, until the end. The book likes to focus more on relationships then battles. Like the second book though it also focuses on trama and healing. I will say I liked it very much and the ending had me grinning ear to ear.
All in all it is a great addition to the series and makes me wonder if we are going to go back to Fayrah, or is Elaine going to have a relationship with Azriel (sorry if I butcher the spelling)? I cant see a very big Elaine book, but one with Fayrah's or Nesta's POV and involving Elaine more. (I feel bad for her because now I just think of here as the other sister)

Book great. Narration not good

The book and story was great. I didn't like narrator. She doesn't distinguish between characters when reading and its not read in the usual personalities. I wish they would have kept the same narrator.

Liked the story. Hated listening to the narrator

I really liked the story. It is a great addition to the series. Unfortunately, I didn't like the narrator who performed this book.

Everything It Promised!

This beautiful book is everything it promised and so much more! I'm still crying and smiling happy tears and just basking in the utter gloriousness that is Sarah J. Maas! This book holds pieces of my heart and I'm forever grateful to have take this journey with these unforgettable characters.

Nesta once wasn't my favorite. She was snarky and mean and very, very difficult. But then Feyre mused that she didn't think Nesta was all bad, that she thought Nesta just felt more deeply then she knew what to do with. And that set the stage for all of my thoughts and feelings to see her in a brand new light. And this book does indeed show us Nesta's heart. It wraps all of her bitterness and heartache up and lays it before us. I can't image anyone reading this not falling for Nesta. The explanations for her past behavior absolutely broke me.

Cassian is one memorable male. He's honorable and has risen so high that to hear others tear him down really breaks my heart. He's one hundred percent the hero and should be treasured. He didn't deserve to be treated as Nesta had been doing. And yet, he still held out hope and had enduring faith in what she could be. He is indeed such a driving and pivotal force behind Nesta. And we finally learn what was in the present that was scorned.

This book gave us such tender and spicy moments as well as redemption and true love. Not just the love between mates, but the love built between a family, even a pieced together one. This is a love story of epic proportions.

I can't wait to read this again! I want to go back and start at the beginning when we meet everyone all over again and see things in a different way, as I know so many different things were taking place behind the detailed scenes and unforgettable words. I couldn't love this series more. These worlds floated straight from the pages and into my heart. And I'm forever changed.

Absolutely riveting!

Sarah has done it once again! This take on Nesta Archeron was absolutely incredible! The character development keeps you hungry for more! I found myself unable to stop listening for more than a few hours! The intense scenes were brillantly described between Cassian and Nesta keep me craving more after every chapter! A Court of Silver Flames is a magnificent feat of Fae fiction beautifully continuing the journey of Nesta, Feyre, and Elaine Archeron in their new Fae lives!

I like Nesta now!

I went in not liking Nesta and came out loving her! SJM has grown so much as an author and she did an outstanding job with this one! Not only did we get to see Cass and Nesta grow together but Nesta’s personal growth was perfectly written. It had all the romantic tropes I love but also a very powerful story about growth and facing your inner demons. I can’t wait for the next one!!

surprisingly great read

I almost didn't read this, because I disliked Neata so much in the other books. But Nesta will not be the same by the end of this one. This was one of the absolute best books of the series! This book is a huge part of the story and if the author writes another book, readers who skipped this one will need every bit to bridge the story. I'm glad I didn't miss out!

Absolutely amazing ending to a phenomenal series

Some of these reviews on here were just insane to me. Stina‘a narration is top notch, and I never minded the switching of narrators throughout the series. It really isn’t that hard to follow and adjust whatsoever. As a audio reader of the From Blood and Ash series (also highly recommend and stina who narrates this book, narrates that whole series as well) I loved having stina in on this series as well. I actually screamed with joy when I heard her voice. Girl I know that’s you!!

The character development is truly unmatched, nesta in the beginning of the series compared to who she is in the end of this book is almost 2 completely different people but we are able to understand how and why she is the way she is all the way through. And her banter with cassian?! I melted over and over again. This was a perfect ending to such a wonderful series, one that I wish I could read for the very first time again and again. Hot, spicy, emotionally riveting, 10/10 on this! Great job both Sarah and Stina :)

Horrible narrator

Over performed, breathy ridiculousness. She ruined this book! I liked the story and the end, but it pained me to listen to some parts.
