Story
Country music’s golden boy Colton Wheeler felt the most perfect harmony when he was with Gretchen Winthrop. But for her, it was a love him and leave him situation. A year later, Colton is struggling to push his music forward in a new direction. If it weren’t about to be the most magical time of year and the support of the Bromance Book Club, he’d be wallowing in self-pity.

Wanted to like but... the WOKEness is strong
Reviewed: 01-27-25
This series started out promising. Some of the WOKE political PREACHING is prolific in this installment. I really hate the preaching aspect of each story & really do not care for the female lead. Such a shame...

Story
Two years ago, I had a one-night stand with a hot stranger. Billionaire Marcus Willingham. Powerful, irresistible blue eyes and completely off-limits. He couldn’t get to me before those two thugs grabbed me, but luckily, he was able to chase them off. It was just supposed to be one night. No love. No feelings. And certainly no regrets. Six weeks later, I found myself staring at a positive pregnancy test.

Liked the story-easy listen
Reviewed: 12-12-24
I liked the story. The narration was just OK. It was difficult to listen to Mr. Cole's breathy narration, especially the inner dialog/non conversation reading. I couldn't tell at times if it was the MMC or MFC talking. During the conversation reading his switch between masculine & feminine voice was pretty good. Guess I just prefer duet narration style over all.

Story

When another man tries to get between him and his estranged wife, complicated doesn't even begin to cut it. Kelly James doesn't want complicated. Proving she can move on from her soon-to-be ex-husband seems like a brilliant idea. Until someone close to her goes missing, and the police tag Levi as suspect number one. When her mafia relations come into question, complicated becomes deadly.

Looking forward to next installment

While I liked this installment of the series, and I really like the narrator's, the story would have been better served to be a duet narration. The distraction of each narrator performing both male & female parts with alpha male characters hold the overall enjoyment back. With that said I'll listen to the rest of this series & think this series is worth the credit even with the dual POV type narration.

Story
Nathan Davenport, CEO of the Davenport empire, is my complete opposite. He hates chocolate. I'm a size sixteen dessert chef. He only wears black. I love glitter and pink. He's grumpy, while I look on the brighter side of life. Too bad his piercing eyes, and high cheekbones, haunt my dreams. When he offers to loan me the money to save my bakery, I have no choice but to agree.

Book should have been heavily edited...
Reviewed: 09-14-24
The story outline is a good premise, however, the author dragged out the book. The inner repetitive dialog and the drawn out open door "love scenes" made this story tedious and drawn out. I ended up fast forwarding thru much of the story. Not sure I'll be listening to another story by this author. (The narration was good, they did the best with the material they were given.)

Finding out my husband, my best friend, only had months to live was devastating. Sitting out under the star-filled sky, listening to him wish on star after star, night after night, almost killed me. He never wished to get better. He wished for me to be happy. He wished for me to find the strength to move on.

Narrator detracted from the story
Reviewed: 07-03-24
Honestly, the "performance" of Ms Edwards ruined this story. First, why were there sooo many southern accents from characters in books 1 & 2? If I remember correctly these characters were all born & raised in Alaska, not the deep south! Second, Ms Edwards was so monotone, it was difficult to tell if she was reading male or female characters. I couldn't tell if the character was having an inner monolog or if he/she was speaking to another character. Suggest reading this one & skip the Audible version.

Be aware this is a reboot w/ new narrators
Reviewed: 07-03-24
While I enjoyed the story & performance on this book, I'm ticked off that when you pull the series up, the original performance book (w/ Joe Arden, Maxine Mitchell) does not appear. Thus I purchased this book twice & Audible won't let me return it. This is the second time this has happened to me. I get that the authors may try new narrators, but honestly, they need to include all versions of the books that are part of the same series... not just the newest releases.
