About this listen

Finding out my husband, my best friend, only had months to live was devastating. Sitting out under the star-filled sky, listening to him wish on star after star, night after night, almost killed me. He never wished to get better. He wished for me to be happy. He wished for me to find the strength to move on.

I told him his wishes were pointless because happiness wouldn’t exist without him. I found out soon after he passed away that I was pregnant. But I had no idea his final wish would bring me something I never thought I’d find again.

Great story, but Flat narration with no inflection

The narration was incredibly flat and made it hard to want to finish this story on Audible. Almost quit after 1 chapter but really wanted to hear how Bre's and Denver's story played out.

One last wish

I love the outcome of this one. I’m curious is this the end or will we get stories about her brothers. I guess I’ll have to wait and see. Love Aurora style of writing. All her alpha males. Some more than others.

Great book but….

Narrator’s voice was lacking and dry. Wished there was more emotions in her voice but I loved the story.

Narrator detracted from the story

Honestly, the "performance" of Ms Edwards ruined this story. First, why were there sooo many southern accents from characters in books 1 & 2? If I remember correctly these characters were all born & raised in Alaska, not the deep south! Second, Ms Edwards was so monotone, it was difficult to tell if she was reading male or female characters. I couldn't tell if the character was having an inner monolog or if he/she was speaking to another character. Suggest reading this one & skip the Audible version.

Disappointing 3rd book

I loved the first two so thought I'd love this one, but it was different in a disappointing way.
Even more disappointing as the first two came with my package but I spent a credit on this one.
The first two books were narrated by Joe Arden & Maxine Mitchell. They were excellent. Book 3 is narrated by Catherine Edwards. The lead in book 2 is the mom of the lead in book 3. She is from Alaska, but this narrator has decided to give her a southern accent - seriously?? She's awful at the male voices. The male lead in book 2 is also in this book, but he goes from sounding like an authentically Alaskan Sheriff (just a hint of native speak, VERY sexy voice) to what sounded like a woman imitating a male truck driver in need of an education. The small child sounds like she has a speech impediment (but that's not the character). The only character that sounds realistic is the female lead.
The plot and characters are underdeveloped. The hero is described as a rugged Alaskan male, a brave fisherman, but generally just goes for the ride in his actions. He makes one big move... and it's way too easy. If this story was true, there'd be more emotional struggle. Real people can't just shed off years of pain and relationship baggage because they are told it's time to. And no man with that personality would just sit around for years hoping... it didn't add up. The heroine has been through hell, is wary of relationships... but <spoiler> just decides to go full throttle into a new relationship without much need to be convinced.
There was so much opportunity missed. The story was set up really well. It had the potential to be one for the books. The beginning drew me in in spite of the horrible narration. Unfortunately, the strong start up got lost. There were parts of the story, like the weird in-laws, that felt like they were set up but then never explored. It was like someone started to tell a really good story... then something happened to that person... and someone else with less talent had to finish it for them. It's even over an hour shorter than the past two! Many parts of it feel incomplete. At least the main characters' stories resolved. Sorry Aurora, but this one fell short compared to your other great works.

Sadly Disappointing

I loved the first 2 books. I usually like Aurora Rose Reynolds books. This book just didn't meet expectations for me. The book was entirely to short to unpack these two. From their back stories to how they got where they are. I felt like a lot was glossed over. This could have been an extremely emotional all over the place second chance love story. Because of the lack of character building, I didn't like the leading gal. I felt like she was very selfish and unfair to her first husband. I mean when she says she wouldn't change things because then she wouldn't have her daughter, like that's the only reason. She goes on several times about how she doesn't love him romantically. He deserved to find someone who did. I also didn't like how the dead husband got blamed for her not being able to orgasm, but now that she's with someone else it happens so easily. Cause you know that wouldn't have anything to do with her not being into he husband that way. It just irks me that the first marriage was cheapened and down played. People have a huge capacity to love. It is ok to experience love in different ways with different people. It doesn't make one's love less than just because it's different with someone else. Things just didn't make sense or click for me.

Wasn't a fan of the narrator. I don't know how we went from Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden to this Catherine Edward's. She was another let down in this book. I mean the book is being told from both points of view so having just one narrator just wasn't working for me. Not to mention that her other character voices were just cringy awful. Her leading voice was just fine but when she switched up between characters I was not impressed. It was weird accents and tones that didn't match characters.
