May be KA’s First Mystery, Looking Forward To More

Once again, KA lured me in and kept me there. Twists and turns. Love and heartache. Strong women, strong men. Vindictive women and weak men. Interesting characters and plot all around.

Good fiction, Narrator Voice Too Senior-Sounding

Politically incorrect main character. “Fell In Love” a bit too often. Plenty of swear words. Situations a bit far-fetched. All of that being said, I enjoyed each book in the series. Not heavy. Was able to multi-task while listening. The only bump I continually ran into was that while the main character is in his early 30’s, the narrator sounds as though he’s close to sixty. Pictured/heard my father reading out loud.
(Oh, and best value from audible in a while.)

First, I want to say Jamie is a new to me author. I don’t know if this is her first or fifth book, but I felt like I was being spoonfed and there were too many characters to keep up with. I didn’t enjoy the narrator. I don’t know if it was the characters or the cadence, I tried speeding up the pace but I just couldn’t continue with the story. It’s rare that I don’t complete a book, but this was too much of a struggle.

I’m new to Lisa Regan. I truly enjoyed listening to the two Claire Fletcher books, finished them in 4days total. Listening to the first Detective Josie book is taking all the effort I have. The narrator’s pronunciation of words while reading as characters born and raised in Central Pennsylvania is just absolutely grating (and all-together wrong). I keep thinking that I wish I had just borrowed the print or ebook version and spent a week actually reading the story. I just don’t have the time to actually read right now.

Loved it! Like another reviewer insinuated, so many characters and no real hero’s. I could not stop stop listening. It’s gritty and dark and so much more. Jo Nesbo never disappoints and Euan Morton reels you in with his voice and character portrayal.

Borrowed then Bought, It’s a Keeper

Loved the way David told his story, kind of like reading an outline or bullet points, but embellished. Christopher’s voice seemed to soften the reading so it was less like a manual and the author’s dry sense of humor was delivered perfectly. I got the book because an old friend often talked about hiking the AT, I don’t know that she did it in the 11years since we last spoke, but my nephew will be starting his Thru Hike in a couple weeks. I wanted to have an idea of what he will experience. I’m hoping to meet up with him & his 2 companions several times and I’ll now be bringing Trail Magic with me.
I’ve gone ahead and purchased the book for a couple of reasons. One, it’s a good read. Two, I want my husband & girls to read it. I’m hoping they may find interest in doing some section or day hiking with me and I want them to know it’s okay to follow your dreams, to attempt new things that they may never have thought about and to be bored. To be with the unfamiliar, to not have access to social media & electronics 24/7.

Once again a story written by Amy Harmon comes alive with narration. While I own the kindle version and a paperback version the audible version drew pictures and images in my head. I want everyone to lose themselves in From Sand and Ash.
