Story
Guess who moved in next door? NYC’s top bachelor. And I’m not swooning—I’m cringing. He’s everything I despise. Grumpy. Arrogant. The neighbor from hell. The bigger bombshell? He’s a cutthroat hotel tycoon, now a major shareholder in my hotel. And guess what? He’s convinced he can charm me out of the rest.

I liked the story but it took awhile to show that the guy in the story liked the gal as strongly.

Story
A chance meeting. A hunky hockey player. A fake romance. Hardly an ordinary day in the life of Poppy Hart. My days usually consist of agonizing over my failing restaurant, worrying about my mountain of debt, and nursing my broken heart. Everything changes when I bump into a man in the coffee shop and claim him as my new boyfriend. To my absolute horror, he turns out to be hockey's most renowned bad boy, Dallas Burke. To my absolute delight, he goes along with my story.

Likable Characters

I liked the story but wasn’t sure if I’d get through it early on due to the women’s voice as it seemed like she had a lisp and seemed too clueless but grew to like her as she was very wise even if she didn’t know it. The guys voice was good but the hee hee sounds when reading as the women were twinge-worthy, but still loved the characters.

It's no secret that I love life. And Dr. Pepper. But also, I love a challenge. So when the coach of the Chicago Comets gives me the opportunity to help their star player, newly traded to their team, acclimate to life in Chicago, I'm all in. I have to be. After my last job went up in flames, I have something to prove. It turns out that the player, Grayson Hawke, is the rudest, most off-putting, reclusive guy I've ever met. It also turns out that he is the beautiful stranger I kissed on New Year's Eve.

Story
Chase Lovett. Star of my (unrequited) fantasies. Hottest guy on campus. Hockey god. Too bad he has no idea who I am. Literally, I’m so invisible to him that he once sat on me in class. No thanks to a fire in the dorms, he just became my accidental roommate. Did I mention the hotel room our university moved us to has only one bed? Not ideal.

First time reader of this author. The main characters were so different but so likable. Nice to have a creative new story that isn’t the same as every other author continues to write. The additional characters gave rise to future stories so I hope there are more with this group.

Story
What does one do when they completely blow an interview? If you're me, you pick up a one-night stand with the most gorgeous man you've ever seen.. That's right, after a lousy interview that could have changed everything for me, I headed over to the local small town bar to sulk when the one man I shouldn't want walked in. And when my friend convinced me to take him back to my hotel room, I didn't think about it, I just did it . . . well, I did him.

This was least enjoyable story from this author. It drags on and on with little story- sex-little story-sex and on and on. The female narrator was probably the best voice and noises than any other female but the story was so blah, it wasn’t enough.

Story
My rule is to never fall in love with a client. His rule? To never fall in love at all. I work at an elite matchmaking company. A failing one, to be honest. We’re near bankruptcy when billionaire Anthony Winter invests. It’s only business for him - he doesn’t believe in the company’s mission. No, Anthony tells me true love is a lie and our clients are delusional. He’s a cynic in a thousand-dollar suit. He’s also a challenge I can't resist. We make a bet. I have three dates to prove our service works. Three dates to set him up with the woman he never knew he needed.

Couldn’t Stop Listening
Reviewed: 03-11-24
I liked the reader, writing, and characters and didn’t want to stop listening even though I didn’t like the topic. It wasn’t a feel good book and wish I had listened to something else but will never forget this book. I was so relieved it didn’t go the way I thought it was with harm coming to Atlas and/or his restaurant. I’d love to hear a different story from this author.

Story
Before Stephanie can even step foot off Flight 127, Hawaii to Newark, she’s knee deep in trouble. Her dream vacation turned into a nightmare, and she’s flying back to New Jersey solo. Worse still, her seatmate never returned to the plane after the L.A. layover. Now he’s dead, in a garbage can, waiting for curbside pickup. His killer could be anyone. And a ragtag collection of thugs and psychos, not to mention the FBI, are all looking for a photograph the dead man was supposed to be carrying.

Would you listen to Explosive Eighteen again? Why?
No because I don't listen to any story twice if I can help it. It was better than some of the series but not the best. I finished it for light listening while doing home projects. It is easy listening because you miss a bit and not fall behind. I liked the attempt at a mystery...who is after her.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Explosive Eighteen?
Whenever Ranger is in the story it is memorable.
What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She makes it! I love her as Stephanie Plum.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
I listened to it a month ago so a bit late for me to do a good review.
