PI Jackson Rivers grew up on the mean streets of Del Paso Heights and he doesn't trust cops, even though he was one. When the man he thinks of as his brother is accused of killing a police officer in an obviously doctored crime, Jackson will move heaven and earth to keep Kaden and his family safe.

I loved this book and the characters in it. They are all flawed and very real. The mystery is riveting and I made the mistake of listening in bed. I spent 3 nights awake until 3 am because I was so engrossed in the story.
I’d like to say that I enjoyed the narration, but it seemed awkward to me with pauses at times that made no sense and word pronunciations that were off.
Overall, I like the book and am waiting for the next one in the series.

Story
Brent Kelly is a laid-back electrician whose only concerns are drinks with friends and which man to bed next. In need of a new accountant to sort out his nightmarish shoebox of tax receipts, he’s referred to Logan Willis. He doesn’t expect to be intrigued by the science-fiction-loving, geeky guy with dark-rimmed glasses and a blue TARDIS shirt. So his fascination with the soft-spoken Englishman surprises him, and their mutual attraction is completely unexpected. He most certainly never expects to fall in love.

I enjoyed every single word of this audio. Nick Russo did an amazing job with all of the characters and really brought each of them to life.
I highly recommend this book. If you get it, you will not be sorry!!’❤️❤️❤️

Very steamy and romantic❤️

I enjoyed the book when I read it and was excited when the audio book came out. NR Walker is one of my favorite authors and I’ve never been disappointed after finishing one of her books.
I liked both of the MCs in this book. They were flawed and real and very relatable people. I was really invested in how their relationship progressed and a little stressed during the drama parts.
The narrator’s performance was awesome. He made me laugh(you could hear the humor in his voice) and cry and he swept me right into the story. I never felt that he was just reading the book. He put all of the emotions needed into it.
All in all, this was a great read-very steamy and very romantic. ❤️

Ever hear the story about the bodyguard who falls for the rock star? Yeah, it never ends well. Each day I remind myself that it's my job to protect Stone. And nowhere in the job description does it say I should lust after the charismatic, charming man. Especially since we're opposites. But every night I spend with him the dangerous, off-limits attraction grows more intense. Until one night in a limo when we combust.

I absolutely loved all of the books in this series and was excited about the audio versions coming out. The story is great, however, I’m definitely not thrilled with the narrators. I thought tat they both sounded kind of robotic and it was difficult for me to stay in the story. I will not be finishing this one ( I pushed through to chapter 18).
Narration style is a personal thing and while I didn’t enjoy this, you may. As I said earlier, all of the stories are excellent and you will like the series if you’re a Brooke Blaine fan, which I am.

I will say right off that I wasn’t crazy about Tom, the model and one of the main characters. This is the second book in this series and the second time I’ve wanted to head slap one of the mains for being a jerk. I struggled with this through most of both books, but don’t let that stop you from listening to or reading this series. The books are very well written and though the characters are flawed, you will enjoy the stories if you like mysteries.
I’m off to get Blue on Blue, the next in the series. ❤️

A decent book ruined by the narration
Reviewed: 09-06-20
I had read this book a while ago and enjoyed it for the most part. Unfortunately, the narration ruined the audio for me. The character voices sounded pretty much the same and one of the characters who I assume was Spanish from the name, was particularly bad. Save you money/credit and read the book instead!

Every bartender should follow one simple rule—don't go home with the customers. That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar—also known as me.

I was surprised the Lauren Blakely had written a m/m story and she did a wonderful job! There are also some fun additions at the end of the audio (after the book ends) that I thoroughly enjoyed! I hope Lauren decides to continue writing in this genre. ❤️
