About this listen

Stuart Jenner's job is high stress, high stakes, and everything he's strived for. So why, when the apex of his career is within reach, does he stumble? At his doctor's insistence, he books a privately chartered yacht to sail around the Whitsundays for two weeks of sun, surf, and sex. When his friend-with-benefits bails on him at the last minute, Stuart decides to go alone.

Foster Knight left the rat race behind six years ago, bought a yacht, and now calls the Great Barrier Reef his home. Sailing tourists around tropical waters is all in a day's work, and he's never been happier. When his next client arrives alone, the two-week charter will be the most private job he's ever had.

Foster can see how stressed and exhausted Stuart is, and he promises him extensive rest and relaxation. Stuart slowly realizes his original plan for two weeks of sun, surf, and sex might not be lost yet. Confined to a yacht, isolated by aqua-colored oceans and the sweltering sun, Stuart and Foster are about to find out just how hot the tropics can get.

Contains mature themes.

I love this perfect novel

Great story best written. Good humor. Codgerly yet smooth captain. Modern knight, very. Make that two modern knights. Wayward and incorrigible flirt more adorable than obnoxious, impeccably timed. Steamy and realistic sex. Great low angst emo well played. The best travelogue bits ever. I was there.

I listened to it twice in 24 hours and I want to hear it again. Perfect narration goes without saying. I give it ten points it's that far above the rest.

Great 4 star book

There is nothing wrong with this story - it’s a smooth ‘sailing’ love story - I enjoy this author very much - this did not have much LOL moments - so don’t expect rom com—but more of a low angst love story that has you rooting for two kindred spirits

A fun, flirty read.

I originally read this back in 2018, but this is my first time listening. I'm going to post my review from when I read it- I gave it 5*. I think now I'd probably do 4*, but we'll leave it at 5.
I really enjoy Antony Ferguson's narration, although it was kind of hard to distinguish between the 2 characters most of the time. If I wasn't paying really close attention to whose chapter it was, it would take me awhile to figure out who was speaking. But other than that, very enjoyable!

Original review:
What an absolutely perfect summer read! Sunshine, sailing, smiles, sex, and speedos...what more could you ask for?!? This book made me want to rent a private yacht and sail off into the sunset.

Honestly, Private Charter is such a fun, flirty story.
Stuart is so cheeky (I love that word) and such a tease! This vacation, and meeting Foster, is exactly what he needed. Seeing how free and happy Foster is on the open sea, far from the confines of the corporate world, Stuart's eyes are open to ideas he never thought possible. I loved that Foster made him realize there was more to life than how he'd been living.

A little drama, a little excitement, and a whole lot of sexual chemistry filled the pages of Private Charter. I loved it.

When capitalism jades your soul and you end up on vacation with a hottie!

Narration: I really enjoyed it! I thought it fit the guys perfectly considering their initial professions and general confidence/cockiness.

Story: I love this story. It’s s3xy, fun and the perfect escapism for fiction readers. Stuart and Foster are a lot of fun together; Stuart is such a tease! I felt like I was on a little adventure with the characters the entire book and the HEA is so satisfying. Highly recommend! I’ve also listened to the audio and the narrator does a fantastic job. I even bought the paperback because I love the cover so much. I’m assuming the cover model is supposed to be Stuart and it fits him perfectly.

Very steamy and romantic❤️

I enjoyed the book when I read it and was excited when the audio book came out. NR Walker is one of my favorite authors and I’ve never been disappointed after finishing one of her books.

I liked both of the MCs in this book. They were flawed and real and very relatable people. I was really invested in how their relationship progressed and a little stressed during the drama parts.

The narrator’s performance was awesome. He made me laugh(you could hear the humor in his voice) and cry and he swept me right into the story. I never felt that he was just reading the book. He put all of the emotions needed into it.

All in all, this was a great read-very steamy and very romantic. ❤️

If you could leave it all behind

A story many of us can relate to, at least in our day dreams. Tired of work, the demand, the constant stress an pull. That feeling of it squeezing the life out of you. What if we just walked away and moved ro paradise and lived our best life? This is the story of one man who did just that. Then a second man, who has yet to realize that is exactly what he needs; not just a 2 week vacation, walks in to the 1st man's life. Together they find happiness, peace and love. But it's not as easy as it sounds.

Sail Away with Foster and Stuart :)

This was a fabulous audiobook narrated by Antony Ferguson. Private Charter was one of the earliest books that I read by N.R. Walker and I love Stuart and Foster. It was a nice and exciting trip on Stuart's sailboat as I escaped for a short trip around Australia :)

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: Story had an easy pace and was relatively low on drama - I felt Stuart's stress and the change in him after the two-weeks of quiet. The characters are likeable with good chemistry and the story vividly captures the beauty of Queensland. It just all wrapped up a little to quickly for me - I would have liked a little more "storm" action.

🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoyed Antony Ferguson's narration and think he has done a good job narrating Private Charter. I had no problem distinguishing characters or feeling the emotions of the story.
