What a pleasant surprise. I bought book 1 on a massive sale. No doubt I’ll be using credits for the rest. It’s well written, steamy, and narrated perfectly! A new author to add to my favorites!! Her writing reminds me a lot of Lucy Score, if you’re familiar with her.

This story is so eloquently written and narrated. It’s a story of an inspirational woman who stood for integrity, honesty and fairness… Someone who shone bright in the shadow of powerful men at a time when the voices of women were so often dismissed and shuttered. Martha is a woman so many of us aspire to be…a loving and strong mother, a proud and successful professional, a revered community member, and a woman loved and adored by a faithful partner and best friend. Easily worthy of your time and a credit.

I do enjoy Melanie Harlow’s stories… I enjoy the escapism of an easy listen while knitting or driving or doing dishes. Yet I avoided purchasing this book when it was first released, despite having listened to the first 3 books. Why? I am truly so turned off by this narrator. Whenever I see Rock Engle’s name, I cringe. I’m so sorry, but his voice is so incredibly annoying to me. It’s whiny and nasal and overly dramatic. Both his male and female voices are almost cartoonish. When this MMC is described, there is no match between this guy’s voice and the male character’s description. I would have preferred if the entire book had been read by the female narrator. Samantha Brentmore, I believe. Her male voice is better than his. I can’t really explain how bad it is for me. I convinced myself it would be okay when this book went on a big sale… cheaper than using a credit. Never again. I should have listened to my inner voice the first time… “you will be mad you bought this… nothing is worth this torture… just skip it, you’ll catch up with the next book.”
Onto the next installment… I think it’s Jason Clarke or Jacob Morgan. Would be thrilled with either… or Teddy Hamilton…or… anyone else! Please! For the love of God.

Good stories, ample 🔥🔥, fun and engaging characters. What’s not to like? It’s easy listening but that’s sometimes what’s needed.

Jason Clarke could read the phone book and I’d likely buy it. I purchased this trio of books on a whim. I don’t typically listen to paranormal romances but the reviews were good and a generous holiday sale sealed the deal! What a pleasant surprise. A good story, some twists and turns (although some were a bit predictable.), attractive and engaging characters, solid and descriptive writing. It was entertaining and sexy, and the narration was fabulous. My very only gripe was the annoying best friend. Why did she have to be quite so obnoxious? The snark was a little grating and I 100% could have lived without the NYC accent (not the fault of the narration … it was consistent and believable) but honestly, the less than redeeming best friend wasn’t enough to even drop a star. Does this series continue? I’d be curious to hear Romy and Sara’s story… If so, could an angel magically remove her accent, please?

Give me a strong, protective hero and a feisty but not annoying heroine, throw in 🔥🔥🔥, a good story line, a little suspense, and hot best friends… all narrated by superbly talented Jason and Rose and you have a winner!

I enjoy dark, forbidden romances. I love too-much-to-believe stories. This one was a bit painful (I’m so sorry to the author but these darn audios are pricey!) it was redundant… tough to get through the abuse and then understand the draw. Also, the last hour is ridiculous. I mean, come on. Both narrators are great (although far more female than male parts.)

First, I have enjoyed Rina Kent’s writing. Adrian’s story was my first and I dove in head first two summers ago. I loved the dark, menacing quality of the male characters. This last series has not been my favorite. Some books were better than others. For me, this book disappointed. I know we’re supposed to understand the heroine is mentally ill, exactly what the was is still a bit perplexing. It became whiny and redundant. The narrators were excellent. But, I think I’m done with this series.

I’m enjoying Bella Matthews as an author for easy listening escapism. I love the Kingston family antics. I felt as though some storylines could have been explored a bit more. But, overall it was good.
