Suspenseful and Swoony!!

Be still my fighting Warrior Heart! Broken Harbor by Catherine Cowles was an emotional and suspenseful small-town romance that completely wrecked my heart in all the best ways. Sutton and Cope’s journey to HEA was full of swoony twists and dangerous turns that consumed me in every aspect of their love story. Catherine cleverly kept me guessing till the very end creating the perfect mix of mystery and love!

Erin Mallon and Connor Crais performed this audiobook in dual narration, and this pairing never disappoints. Erin added a sense of vulnerability to her passionate performance capturing Sutton’s independent, hardworking, momma-bear-loving spirit. (Yes, lady!) Connor’s warm, inviting timbre enveloped Cope’s protective and charismatic demeanor making this bad boy of hockey irresistible.(Swoon!) Both narrators were spot-on in capturing Sutton and Cope’s slow-burning, magnetic chemistry, which was simply meant to be.

Overall, I LOVED this book! If you are a fan of a small-town romance with a hot broody hockey player, a determined single mom, parking lot meet-cutes, youth hockey camps, lively seven-year-olds, shady landlords, bakery cupcakes, close proximity, mountain mansion views, comforting hugs, tragic loss, secrets about the past, healing together, underwear snapping, steamy desk times, Mighty Ducks, found family, a jaw-dropping climax, and a HEA that will mend a broken heart, then you will love Sutton and Cope’s story. I always look forward to more from Catherine Cowles.

Cope Colson <3

She has done it again. Every time I feel like I say the same things but each time I am blown away.

She continues to surprise me with the suspense aspect and the romance side is just as good each and every time.

Cope and Sutton were no different this time and I really enjoyed it.

Can’t wait for the next one!

I need the Coltons to adopt me

This third book did not disappoint! Cope and Sutton's story had all of my favorite tropes: a single mom, hockey, and a touch of suspense. Sweet Lucas brought me to tears! Be sure to check out the bonus scene on Kindle Unlimited; it’s truly worthy and heartwarming. Lastly, I just want to say that I want to be Lolli when I grow up! She always makes me laugh. Overall, this book is the best!

Brings the story to life!

The narrators added so much more to this story! Absolutely perfect for these two.

She’s done it again. Catherine Cowles manages to balance the best parts of Smalltown, love “, trauma and suspense. I’ll never get enough.

This family is simply amazing, and I was so excited to see someone specific from a previous series l. (No spoilers here)

Cope and Sutton were beautiful, heartbreaking and healed the pieces of each other so perfectly. From the prologue to the bonus chapter i couldn’t put this book down.

Cope is such a protector, even sacrificing his happiness for the love of this family and their peace of mind. My heart broke for him realizing how much he had been through and held on.

Sutton is the perfect addition to the amazing women in this series. Her love for her son and determination to thrive on her own is admirable. Luca is the absolute best kid ever and was such a perfect addition to the story.

Lolly and her shenanigans are the perfect comic relief and I am more obsessed with her as the series goes on. I look forward to her unique personality each time.

That sneak peak for the next book!! I can not wait to dive into those two.

Sports romance, romantic suspense and an incredible narration! A perfect recipe!!

Catherine’s first sports romance but mixed with her iconic suspense… I loved this recipe and now I want more!!!

Cope and Sutton’s romance just had all the right ingredients including a heartwarming romance developing between them, emotion as they both work on healing from their pasts, a little boy who will steal your heart (and stole Cope’s), so many found family moments, comic relief from the hilarious Lolli, HOT spice and LOTS of twists that had me gasping as I never saw them coming!!! I’m in love with the whole town of Sparrow Falls as this series just continues to get better while making me fall harder for every single character!

AUDIO REVIEW:
Catherine never disappoints with the narrator castings for her stories as Erin Mallon & Connor Crais completely embodied Sutton and Copeland and gave life to this story! Connor has the perfect deep sultry tone for this protective and swoony hockey player while Erin showcased so much emotion in her voice and makes you feel everything that Sutton goes through while also capturing her incredible strength! These two just create magic when they narrate together and gave an incredible performance of this story!!

OVERVIEW:
Sutton is a bakery owner and single mom to seven year old, Luca. She ended up in Sparrow Falls trying to give her son a better life after a tragic situation caused by her ex. Cope is starting a hockey camp and his favorite star hockey player ends up being his coach.

A single mom romance and a hot hockey player with the biggest heart who also falls for her son?! I mean swooooon! And the fact that Cope was her son’s favorite player just made it even cuter! Cope also had so much depth to him with I loved to see as you get to know some of his past which just brought him and Sutton even closer. I was feeling all the things with these two from all the sweet caring moments, to the immense sadness for what they’ve experienced.

The Twist Got Me

I could not stop listening to this book. I normally read Catherine’s books pretty quickly but this was fast even for me 😆

Expect 👉🏼 Small Town Romantic Suspense, Hockey Hero, Single Mom, Baker Heroine, Forced Proximity, He Spoils Her, Woman on the Run, Found Family, Touch Her and D1e

Sutton is slaying the mom thing. Sure, there isn’t a ton of money and her son wants to play a dangerous sport and her landlord keeps raising her rent, and her son’s hero turns out to be the super attractive brother of her friends…

Okay, but for real, did Catherine really add in hockey? Because just when I thought I couldn’t love her books more… she went and added in my kryptonite.

Cope is so gone for Sutton. And he’s gone for Luca too. Like he was just waiting for the sunshine they are 🥹 to brighten up his life.

I love Sutton. Strong, badass and the best mom.

These two were it for each other and I’m just so in love with them and their story. And I did NOT see that twist coming 😅

Connor Crais and Erin Mallon were fantastic in my ears 🎧

Annoying female voice

The finale narrator is very annoying and is taking away from the story. I liked the story and characters so I continued with the listen but will not in the future if the same female narrator is on.

Single mom, forced proximity, small town, romantic suspense perfection!

Broken Harbor is the 3rd book in the Sparrow Falls series and are we even surprised that this was another Catherine Cowles banger?! Small town, single mom, hockey hero + baker heroine, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, found family, he spoils her, romantic suspense!

Sutton is a single mom to her 7-year old son Luca and a baker in town, they moved to Sparrow Falls two years prior after Sutton was able to get away from her ex and the lifestyle/bad guys he got wrapped up with. She is bringing Luca to hockey camp when she meets Cope in the parking lot after having a flat tire. He offers her help but she turns him down, then they meet again inside since he’s coaching the hockey camp…and happens to be her son’s favorite hockey player “The Reaper” for the Seattle Sparks.

Both Cope and Sutton are pulled to one another from the start, their chemistry was so apparent but Sutton has a strict “no more athletes” rule after her ex-husband. Cope also has tragedy in his past and doesn’t feel like he deserved to be happy. But when he finds out about her current living situation, he immediately moves her and Luca in with him!

I just adored Cope and Sutton together! And seeing him with Luca too was the cutest. I loved all the hockey time we get in this one! And the way Cope spoils them both and is such a caretaker, so good! He calls her “Warrior”, reads mommy blogs to find out the best carseat to take her son safely to hockey practice, moves them in with him, he has a house big enough for his whole family to stay at, he gets a puppy when he finds out her son wanted one. I just love this series so much and I’m so very excited for what’s to come and couples to come, all the characters are so good in this series!

I received an ALC for the audiobook. Catherine’s audiobooks are always so good and have the best narrators for the characters. This one is narrated by Connor Crais (perfection for sports heroes) and Erin Mallon, always a win!
