About this listen

My dad and I have been estranged for years, but as his only living relative, it's no surprise I inherit his massive cattle ranch when he dies.

Something that is a surprise? The stipulation in his will that requires me to live on the ranch and actively manage it for a year before I can access my inheritance money.

I haven't stepped foot in Hartsville, Texas, population one thousand, since my parents split when I was six. Now a city girl through and through, I never imagined having to move back to cowboy country. But I need the money to invest in my company, and a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

There's just one giant roadblock to my plan: the ranch's foreman, grumpy cowboy Cash Rivers. I don't care how good he looks in his Wranglers and chaps. He's rude, he's growly, and he wants me gone. I'd fire him in a heartbeat, but I need this cowboy to teach me the ropes of running a ranch.

We're enemies from the get-go. But it turns out Cash is really good at this ranch thing. He's got strong hands, an intelligent mind, and let's just say everything really is bigger in Texas. Working alongside him leads to conversations beneath the stars. Throw in some cheek-to-cheek dancing at the local dive bar, and it all feels so right that I start to fall in love with life on the ranch. And maybe with him, too.

But my stay in Hartsville is only temporary. And you know what they say about cowboys: they may break horses, but they also break hearts. If only Cash hadn't already lassoed mine…

Butting heads leads to knocking boots in this wildly sexy enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine, small-town cowboy romance by Jessica Peterson. Cash is the first standalone book in the steamy interconnected Lucky River Ranch series.

I loved sassy Mollie and cowboy Cash together

When I saw that one of my favorite authors, Jessica Peterson, was going to do a series based on a ranch in Texas, I was immediately in since I grew up in a small Oklahoma town just a few hours north of Texas. Cash was just as great as I hoped it would be and now I am so excited for the Lucky River Ranch series. Grumpy/sunshine is my all-time favorite trope, and this was a fantastic take on it. The banter was on point and I loved sassy Mollie and cowboy Cash together. Narrators Stephen Dexter and Lila Winters were excellent and I enjoyed their performances very much.

✨Thoughts✨
𝐎𝐡 my goodness, this audiobook was absolutely perfect! From the moment Cash and Mollie's relationship began on rocky ground, I was hooked. Mollie's unexpected return to River Ranch to claim her inheritance led her to be stuck at the ranch for a whole year, alongside the grumpy yet attractive foreman, Cash. As they both vied for ownership of the land, their tension-filled dynamic kept me on the edge of my

𝐈𝐭 was impossible not to fall for Cash. He carried the weight of the world on his shoulders, yet beneath his tough exterior was a kind and honorable man determined to keep his family together. His slow-burning relationship with Mollie was filled with tension and undeniable attraction. They danced around each other, both wary of the risks involved until they finally couldn't deny their feelings any longer. And let me tell you, when they gave into their feelings, it was truly epic.

𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞, Mollie navigated the complexities of her family history and discovered a new side to her father through Cash's stories. Through their connection, Mollie found healing for her wounded heart. The way Cash and Mollie were together made my heart sing.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 dual narration by Stephen Dexter and Lila Winters was truly impressive. From the moment I hit play, I was hooked. Their authentic southern accents brought the characters to life, with Stephen Dexter's portrayal of Cash fitting the cowboy of every girl's daydream perfectly. The audio quality was crystal clear, allowing for easy listening at any speed.

𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥, this audiobook is a must-listen for fans of cowboy romance. It was a treat from start to finish, filled with fun moments and unforgettable characters!

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 to Jesica Peterson, Valentine PR, and Podium audio for this amazing ALC.

Love a cowboy romance

Cash is such a classic cowboy and this story made my small town heart happy. I loved their banter so much, they hated each other and it was just classic.

Mollie's character growth throughout the book was phenomenal and this whole book had me smiling from the beginning to end! The tension between these two was just *OOF* sooo good until it FINALLY snaps!

If you want to read about a broody cowboy who ends up down bad for the girl, then this is the book for you. SO GOOD

Narration: Stephen Dexter always just does a great job, his southern accent wasn't over the top and he did such a great job. Lila Winters was so well cast for Mollie's character. Such a great narration!

Love me a Cowboy

This was a very cute enemies to lovers situation. Molie and Cash both emotionally unavailable in the beginning but turn out really needed each other. Love the spin of her dad working from the beyond to make his daughter happy since he didn’t put her first in life, he did in death.

Great story!

Loved the story. Less dramatic and more centered around the relationship building. Can’t wait for the next book.
The spicy 🌶️ was great but I with the narrators had more inflection during those scenes. Also there accents were terrible for Texas lol. But not annoying so all good.
All and all I would definitely recommend this book.

I loved hearing Stephen Dexter with the Texas accent!
Overall great story and easy listen. The story has plenty of plot and does not rely on spice to keep it moving.

Loved it in audio even more

I don't think I will ever get over this book and now the audio... .LOVE

The narrators were perfection. The accent and tones in their voices for these characters were amazing!

Cash and Mollie were so good together. City girl x Cowboy. Top Tier!

Mollie returns after her father dies and instead of the cattle ranch being left to Cash, it is left to Mollie with some stipulations. Enemies made but these enemies to stay just enemies for long. These two were angst-ing but they had chemistry OFF THE CHARTS. These two were opposites but also were what each other needed. They were able to help and assist each other where they were lacking.

The chemistry always sizzled anytime these two interacted and they were beyond hot in the bedroom.

Hot cowboy romance

This was such a good small town, enemies to lovers, hot cowboy romance. The tension and banter between Mollie and Cash was fantastic. Although they started off not being able stand one another, they bonded over their mutual grief from the sudden passing of Mollie's father and Cash's boss Garrett. Their loathing quickly turned to lusting and lusting to love.

Lila Winters and Stephen Dexter did a great jol narrating this audio.

Loved this cowboy romance!

Who knew that I could fall in love with a cowboy like I did?!!

Cash was my first book by Jessica Peterson and after listening to the audiobook, I have to say that I'm invested in this series and can't wait for more.

Cash and Mollie meet during the worst of times. A reading of a will that brings the long lost daughter of a ranch owner back to the home she only knew as a young girl. She's now a city girl through and through and had the missed opportunity of having a real relationship with her father who passed away. But he leaves his ranch to her hoping for a connection even after death. Unfortunately, Cash thinks the ranch belongs to him and his family since he's worked the land for many years and was told it would be going to him. A clash of wills is this "meet cute" and I already loved it!

We all know enemies to lovers storylines are favorites in the romance world, but mix it with some "fish out of water" and forced proximity and we had a recipe for greatness. Cash battles his feelings for his physical attraction to Mollie and Mollie can't help but like the sweaty, hard working, tall glass of water with a mustache. Even when they have some dislike for one another, they had this connection all while working the ranch. I loved the main characters and the supporting characters and the way Mollie found a home and a family in what her father left her. She combined the best of both her worlds and it was truly a beautiful piece of the story. But Cash? That man was cowboy perfection. Angry and grumpy at first, but the way he loved and cared for others almost to a detriment to himself. I loved seeing him grow and finding a balance with the ones he loved. But the real connection that built and brought on the physical and spice between Mollie and Cash? Dang, these two were all sorts of hot!

As for the audiobook...I need to give major props to Lila Winters and Stephen Dexter. I truly felt like I was in Texas, on a ranch with Mollie and Cash. They brought a realness to the story that made the characters relatable and tangible. And their accents? Loved the country twang. This was my first Jessica Peterson book, but I can't wait to read more. Especially of these Rivers boys!

Hot Small Town

Cash and Mollie’s story was so much fun! It had that Hallmark small town vibe, with hot cowboys and stomach flutter spice. I was smiling the whole time I was listening! And waiting for the audio was well worth the wait. I loved the evolution of their relationship and how gone for her Cash was. He was the epitome of a grumpy book boyfriend!
