Story
The devil’s in the details, and I shouldn’t be surprised to find hell in Las Vegas. Luke doesn’t care that I can’t remember a thing about the deal we made on the night of my bachelorette party. All he cares is that I promised my love, my life, and my obedience to him for all eternity. Obedience? Not my style. I’m not looking to be owned by any man. To make matters worse, I was supposed to be marrying another. But Adam can’t stand against Luke’s strength.

Incredibly smart writing, great storytelling

Lucifer's Bride was wonderfully written. Honestly, the storyline was so unique and intelligent, that I was a bit blown away. Toss out everything you think you know about the Heaven and Hell. Roxie Ray and Skye Wilson create a world where we question who the bad guys really are! I won't give away any spoilers, but I will say that the heat between Luke (Lucifer) and Evie was undeniable. I mean, who could resist a devoted man, who is equal parts master and servant? Read or listen to this story. You won't be sorry.

After a while, life starts to pile up - college, football, and helping out my brothers. I just need a small reprieve, especially if she's five foot five, brunette, and has legs that go on for miles.

Wonderful story that pulls you in quickly

Freight Train was my first read/listen by Sapphire Knight and I was not disappointed. Honestly, at the beginning of the book, I wasn't a huge fan of the main male character, Tyler. He came off as cocky, arrogant and too much of a player for my taste. However, he completely won me over in the end. Perhaps, his cockiness at the beginning made the love story even sweeter. The main female character was really well fleshed out, too. I also enjoyed the way Tyler and his family of brothers were together. That was really endearing. Being from Texas, a lot of these characters felt familiar to me. Sapphire Knight really captures Southern charm in Freight Train. As far as the narration went, it was really fantastic! This was my first duet narration to listen to and I really enjoyed it.

Fabulous story with lot's of turns
Reviewed: 05-11-21
Eagles in Flight was a love story in three what felt like three parts. The main character, Emma, begins her journey with very little self-confidence, almost to the point where she was difficult to relate to. I wanted to shake her at times. Perhaps, that's why when she does begin to stand up for herself and become a stronger version of herself, it felt all the mote gratifying to me as the reader. I do not want to give anything away about the storyline. I'll just say that Eagles in Flight was a thoughtfully written book that kept me interested from beginning to end. The narrator was fabulous, as well.

New Year Surprises is the 6th book I've listened to of Brandy Slaven's, so it was no surprise to me that it was amazing. Brandy creates such lovable and relatable characters, it's easy to become a fan of her work. Imma is a curvy, donut loving girl who is grieving a death. She finds herself unexpectedly sharing a cabin with five gorgeous young strangers while on vacation. All of the guys are unique and adorable in their own way, but I had an extra soft spot for Ollie. You can guess what happens from there. It's a fabulous book written by a fabulous writer. The narrator is fantastic, as well. She has such a sweet voice and was a perfect match as Imma. New Year Suprises is a really fun romp and totally worth the credit.

I’m not just Allie Grace anymore. A beast slumbers beneath the surface of my skin. I have new urges and impulses. Not to mention a hot temper that flares up at the slightest provocation. But that’s not all - apparently, I’m also mated. It’s like a part of my soul has been sucked out, cleaved in two, and deposited into Jared and Clay. The strange otherworldly force tying us together is all but impossible to ignore. I try my best, though. At least until other packs catch wind of the new wolf in Forest Grove. The one who has not yet chosen her pack.

Elena Lawson is a wonderful wordsmith who creates an entirely believable paranormal world with exceptional characters you can't help but fall in love with. Allie had a fierce will and a kind heart. It is no wonder she feels torn between two men. One thing I really loved about this book is explanation that is given as to why Allie may not even have a choice between Clay and Jared. I do not want to give any spoilers, but I though it was brilliant and very realistic. As far as the narration goes, it's simply top notch. Heather Costa tells the story beautifully and fills it with emotion and a sense of urgency. Her character voices are easy to differentiate between and are infused with personality. This series is a must listen.

Kendall wonderful love story continues!
Reviewed: 02-25-21
I absolutely loved book two of The White Trash Trilogy. Again, Brandy Slaven writes with such heart that it's impossible not to fall in love with all of the characters. In this "why choose," I found myself in the same position. It actually was more like an "impossible to choose" situation, as each one of Kendall's quad was completely loveable (even Maverick, who at times keeps people at arms length). Refusing Kendall had unexpected twists and turns, along with intrigue and heartbreak. It was an exceptional book. The narration was really wonderful, as well. Rosalie Perrin has such a sweet and youthful voice. She helped bring the story to life with her performance.

Growing up, I've always lived on the wrong side of the tracks. I'm used to the stares, name calling, and disrespect. A tragic accident that leaves me short three of the only people I've ever loved has me devastated enough to try to end my own life. Just when I think there's no hope, I find a reason to live again, or four of them as a matter of fact. Lucas, Maverick, Teagan, and Goose. But what happens when those bonds are tested? I'm not so sure that I'm strong enough to take yet another blow to the heart. My name is Kendall Davis, and what if my story doesn't have a happy ending?

Story of resilience, building trust and true love
Reviewed: 01-20-21
Reviving Kendall had the perfect title. The author takes you on a sometimes heartbreaking journey of a girl that comes from nothing, but holds her head up high even on the darkest days. She has the heart of a lion and can be as stubborn as a bull. However, there is something about her spirt and kindness that touches her “Quad” in a way that leaves no turning back. Yes, their relationship is beyond conventional. Brandy Slaven creates a world in which the reader can buy into it and even be slightly envious. Kendall has nothing. Yet, Kendall has it all. And there has never been a more grateful person than herself. This is a beautiful story about resilience, trust and love. Riley Raye did a great job overall and was well cast to play Kendall. I look forward to the next installment of this series!

A romantic story about redemption & reinvention!
Reviewed: 12-27-20
This story rocked me a bit (in a good way). As my first Age Gap romance, I didn’t know what to expect, beyond the obvious. I may be hooked now. Even though the two main characters are in completely different stages of life, they compliment each other beautifully. Alexander considers himself to be a monster, after living a reckless life that involved carelessly hurting others and sabotaging himself habitually. Sunny helps him to see himself through her adoring eyes. There is one scene that really captured me. It honestly felt like it deserved to be in a movie. It involves a phone call and a rooftop (but it’s not scary). It’s romantic and beautiful. All in all, this is a s story of two people as they discover who they really are the their core and what they want for their futures. Of course, this is a book by Sara Cate. It goes without saying that there are some really hot scenes between these lovers and the chemistry is real! In regards to the narration…. Aaron Shedlock may now be my favorite romance narrator. He reads the book almost like it’s poetry from the beatnik era. He honors each word on the page. Virginia Rose is exquisite as Sunny. She truly brings emotion, honesty and vulnerability to her character in the performance. This is truly an outstanding book. I look forward to Beautiful Sinner, so I can learn about Sunny’s sister’s own journey of self-discovery.

A jaded young woman discovers her power
Reviewed: 07-13-20
Rose is a girl that beats the crap out of punching bags at the gym. She literally tears them apart. She's tough, gorgeous, and comes from a troubled past. She's not short of self-esteem, but is still surprised when suddenly several men fall deeply for her and claim that she is their "mate." What's even more confusing is that they are are all supernatural beings. I don't want to give anything way, but I'll say that the storyline really drew me in. Being that it's a reverse harem storyline, there are multiple love interests. However, Nicole Kelley and Erin West really pulled of what was unique and special about each of the romantic relationships. The narrator did a great job of helping the listener tell the men apart, by making each voice very specific. She had a sassy young voice that fit the character of Rose very well. I'll definitely be listening to the next book in this series, as Sleeping Rose leaves you at the edge of your seat and wanting more.

Breaking the rules can be fun!

This is a wonderful story about stepping out of your comfort zone and finding romance. Landon And Aurora are delightfully likable and relatable, albeit very different. Aurora is innocent and inexperienced and Landon is a businessman and playboy. One thing they have in common is that they have always lived by certain sets of “rules” or guidelines. Aurora’s “rules” were instilled in her by her mother. Landon’s seem to be self-imposed. But rules can be pretty fun to break…. I’ll also add the chemistry between these to unlikely lovebirds is palpable. As far as the narration went, Aurora felt a bit young to me to play Aurora and I wished that Landon could have been played with a British accent or at least sound a bit more powerful. Overall, it was a really fun book to listen to. Well done, Hanleigh Bradley!
