Terrible narration

This narration is awful. And I found the story to be completely boring. It also bounced around which was hard to follow.

Story
Ann Rule was working on the biggest story of her career, tracking the trail of victims left by a brutal serial killer. Little did this future best-selling author know that the savage slayer she was hunting was the young man she counted among her closest friends. Everyone's picture of a natural winner, Ted Bundy was a bright, charming, and handsome man with a promising future as an attorney. But on January 24, 1989 Bundy was executed for the murders of three young women - and had confessed to taking the lives of at least thirty-five more women from coast to coast.

Not my fav Ann Rule
Reviewed: 01-20-22
I realize that this is Ann's first book (I believe). I also know that she knew him and considered him a friend. However, I just cannot get over her sympathy and doubts. If it was me in her position, would I be any different? No idea. But reading the book now and knowing the basics of the story, it was a little hard to swallow how much she believed in him and how sympathetic she was. In some places it almost felt like she was likening him to a rock star or something. I really liked the other books of hers that I've read, and will continue to read them, but this one just didn't sit well with me.

Pronunciation matters

Love this book. Love this series. Very annoyed that the narrator pronounces Peabody as Peabuddy instead of Pea body. But worth powering through.

the narrator almost ruins it for me. She mispronounces multiple words, pauses for long breaks in very weird places, and YOU CAN HEAR HER SWALLOW! That might be one of the most annoying sounds ever.

I really liked the story and the characters of Blackthorn and Grim. However, I got real tired Blackthorn’s treatment of Grim and her ridiculous dedication to vengeance at the cost of everything else. Time to get over it please!
