Wonderful Start into a new Series!

Great Story about a very interesting “new start“. Well paced, interesting characters and an ending that wants to rush one into the next part of the story. I Love Seth Ring’s ability to write many high points into his storys.

Story
Even before the doomed mission to Hadley’s Hope on LV-426, Jenette Vasquez had to fight to survive. Born to an immigrant family with a long military tradition, she looked up to the stars, but life pulled her back down to Earth—first into a street gang, then prison. The Colonial Marines proved to be Vasquez’s way out—a way that forced her to give up her twin children. Raised by Jenette’s sister, those children, Leticia and Ramon, had to discover their own ways to survive.

Great Story with a interesting viewpoint

Slow starting but well told story with a focus on “vasquez”. Great structure and an interesting viewpoint on different perspectives and theyr goal. It is missing a bit of drive in the chase and combat parts. A wonderful addition to the alien universe!

The advertisement offered the ultimate Virtual Reality experience. Using a new technology known as Immersive Virtual Reality or IVR, you could truly experience the game as if you were in it. For someone who has been confined to a wheelchair all of his life, the promise was impossible to ignore, but only a few would be invited to take part in the Alpha test of the new game. Devon decided he would be one of those few.

Wonderful story, so much potential, it would have been so interesting to see where the author wanted to take this.

A nice story of a battle in a parallel universe! Magic, a giant robot and a big kaiju. Conflict between old enemies and an unlikely alliance.

Story
Okiku wants vengeance...and she gets it. Whenever there's a monster hurting a child - the same way she was hurt 300 years ago in Japan - her spirit is there to deliver punishment. But one American boy draws her like no other. The two are pulled into a world of eerie doll rituals and dark Shinto exorcisms that will take them from the American Midwest to the remote valleys and shrines of Aomori, Japan. The boy is not a monster, but something evil writhes beneath his skin, trapped by a series of intricate tattoos.

A wonderful refreshing story, that explores the naive but cruel thoughts of an old haunting creature! Written in a pleasant tempo and excellently presented by the narrator!
