The advertisement offered the ultimate Virtual Reality experience. Using a new technology known as Immersive Virtual Reality or IVR, you could truly experience the game as if you were in it. For someone who has been confined to a wheelchair all of his life, the promise was impossible to ignore, but only a few would be invited to take part in the Alpha test of the new game. Devon decided he would be one of those few.

To ensure he would be chosen he took the most unlikely combination of skills specializing primarily as a craftsman and secondarily as a healer. The best race for these skill trees is a Gnome but that further weakens his ability to fight and survive. Still, it is only the Alpha test and once in he can change it when they move to Closed Beta.

What could go wrong? Soon he finds out just how weak his choices seem to the developers who figure he will die a lot and always be a nobody. Name chosen, Gnobody sets out to take on Angromoria and it is everything he could hope for, until it becomes the only thing he may ever know.

I'm really glad I picked up this audiobook that had been sitting in my recommendations for a while. I would suggest to anyone who follows litrpg to pick it up. My condolences to his family regarding his loss. I can't say enough how much I appreciate you sharing his legacy. Best wishes from a future closed beta listener.

I enjoyed this book, I thought it was very well done. I was thinking that this book could have been used to pitch a new game to Developers. I was sorry to hear the sad news about the author, it is a great loss.

Good story, hard to follow at times when switching points of view. I would love to see what book 2 brings but I am saddened to hear of the author's passing, if book 2 is half as interesting I would love to see someone pick it up esp if the mc doesn't get to take on his main rival.

A main character with a heart and a brain … a welcome change to the whiny dim whits. Pretty straight forward storyline but enjoyable characters that actually show growth. Well worth the credit.

The book is just fascinating. This is the perfect novel to fall into a whole universe that is wonderful, interesting, and exciting. I find myself thinking about it all day long and I cannot wait to get back to it. great narration as well. love love love it!

I found the lead character extremely relatable. He acted exactly how I would if I were in his place. The story is very well thought out and very well told. definitely worth it.

I wish this book had had a line editor. If they did have one they should get a refund and then some. Despite the awkward word choice and sentence structure, this is still a pretty good book. It makes an effort to cover and explain several areas I had never even known to consider and closes a series of plotholes along the entire journey. Both big and small. I don't claim that the plot is airtight mind you, but it does a good enough job of it that I find it very hard to start tearing it apart. If you're able to give a little our mc feels like he could be a real person. A generally good guy with two or three not so nice traits.
There's a lot more I could say about this book. Other strengths and other nitpicks. But I'll restrain myself and just say that I felt the book was doing something at least relatively new. I was enjoying it and I wish I had the next book now.
My condolences to the author's friends and family. I'm sure all of us were robbed when he went.

I just finished this book and am sincerely hoping it has more than just this book. That ending was not what I was expecting and ended in a big cliffhanger. Awesome storyline, very original and portrayed very well.
