Kendra Elliot delivers another great mini series without it becoming a cookie cutter mystery series. Teri Schnaubelt has to be one of my favorite narrator's of all time

Story
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Great story with great narrator!

One of my favorite King novels thus far. As an avid reader of fairy tales as a kid, this story was an amazing compilation of myths and legends starring a boy and his dog. I thoroughly enjoy Kings' ability as a writer to come from the direction you least expect, both in the story itself as well as a slight departure from his own usual genre.
The narrator did a fantastic job on some very challenging voices and sounds. Well done, highly recommend!

When a local quarry yields a garroted body with bad dental work and toes tattooed in Cyrillic, Joe Gunther figures it's a Russian Mafia killing, rare as that might be in Vermont. But it's so very...tidy. So very...professional. Then the CIA calls, inviting Gunther down to Washington for some friendly "assistance" with his case. Suddenly he's caught up in a shadowy game of cross and double-cross.

I don't think I've enjoyed this type of book this much since the James Herriot All Creatures Great & Small series years ago. Justin is not only a great writer & story teller but a great narrator as well! I certainly hope he keeps them coming because I can't wait for the next one!
Makes a great audio book because of the way the chapters are different stories its easy to find a stopping place & start up again
