Heady innerspace in outer space Fiction is how I would sum Robinson's novel. I really dug Inifinite and when I noticed the second novel released I had to read it and see what the crew of the Galahad could get up to. Especially with the the trippy idea of how the universe "ended". Ultimately if you are a fan of Infinite I do not think you will be disappointed with this sequel. it is equally heady with its ideas of time space and astrophysics as it is funny and sarcastic. good read!

Nothing beats the Dead Lights shinning brightly from the darkness of the cold center of the Kingaverse. Later was a quick listen and though it does not venture into new territory it still upholds King's quality of character building. I never understood people's complaints about King's abuse of the economy of words. His description of Therriault near the end of the novel as a (paraphrasing) "...charred piece of wood still smolderig from within ..." is simplisticly perfect evocation.

If you are one of the few left out there that has still not drawn a verdict on sai King - I would offer this novel as an entry point as I believe it has just the right amount of horror and tension to get you hooked. And if this one gets your inner horror fan jonsing then dive right into tthe other Hard Case Crime novels: The Colorado Kid and Joyland. From there....sky's the limit as the entirety of King's oeuvre is yours to explore.

Was excited to see this pop up under King! I enjoyed the whole Monkey Paw vibe. I do wish it was longer so that we had more back story from Ferris to David to Olivia. I know it was a quite burn bit I liked the character buildup - hence the want for more development. I did love the idea if The Suicide Stairs.

What King writes, I read...so says Gan. Love thus story and the ending... not a King apologist...but just lived this series growing up.

Simply put - Brillaince comes to NG like the act of breathing. It is intrinsic to his station as we slowly shuffle, stumble through this mortal coil. I would suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous Fifty Shades of Grey, wrapped in honest humilty, for even just the Cliff's Notes of American Gods.

I like NS quite a bit, having discovered him more recently (Seveneves being my first by him). This seemed quicker....if I could put it that way, then Reamde and Anathem...but I am not just talking about length. it seemed like the book was accelerated in some way. which seems off a bit for being an NS book. overall I thought it was entertaining about a topic I was only marginally aware of. I would recommend it to a fan that missed it the first go around.

I never thought, nor hoped, that this would be another RoP1. I liked quite a bit of what Cline laid down for us in this novel. the future tech was acceptable as well as far fetched enough to make one Blue Sky what they would do if they had one to pilot. The lI ss of the father...the hatred of bullies and the calloquy of misfits (like RoP1) that saved earth with heart and smarts and not just simply brawn. only complaint is I did not buy the anger that the protagonist had against his father immediately after they met. seemed uncharacteristically used and made the device stand out of place even more. other then that I dug the rest of the book. read it!!!
