It was an okay listen, but towards the end, new storylines were started before really finishing existing storylines and i became disengaged with the characters.

I enjoyed the first part of this book, but topics were readdressed often and it got very boring towards the middle of the book.

Chin up, Emily Thorn faces the pain and heartache of love lost and years wasted. I have enjoyed books by this author, but this one kept me thinking the main character, “dear Emily,” was very self-centered. Abuse of any kind leaves scars….. it was just a very unsettling story line I guess. I skipped several chapters just so I could finish the book.

Running their aunt’s beachfront bed-and-breakfast in Sandcastle, Texas, is just the thing to shake things up…though their lives spin out of control in more ways than one when a hurricane barrels into the coastline. It’s a miracle it didn’t carry them off to Kansas. Not so lucky are the assisted-living center and a small eclectic group of local folks who take shelter with the cousins.
