I can’t come up with the right words to express how enjoyable this book was. Normally I don’t bother with memoirs but I took a gamble and it paid off. Sir Patrick was a delight, and the story of his life was so interesting to listen to. I actually wish it could had gone on longer! Mild shock!

While Spartans get all the glory, no soldier - not even the legendary Master Chief - wins a war on his own. Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck and his team of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs) played a major role in saving the Earth from all-out invasion at the end of the Covenant War - acts of bravery and ingenuity that did not go unnoticed by the United Nations Space Command.

Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.

So this is what Prometheus was gonna be?
Reviewed: 06-01-19
Pretty much as what the headline states. This is obviously what Prometheus was based upon. But to the review, I felt the first 15-20 minutes of Lance's narration was not needed. We could of gotten a pretty good idea of what was going on based on the UPP crew and made it feel as much movie like as the previous 3 installments. It was also as if Dirk Maggs had taken a nose dive in this production by allowing his actors to really just fall flat in their performances, notably in returning members like MIchael and Lance. I respect these two, I really do, and have had the honor to meet Michael on occassions, but if I were the director I'd of asked for a lot more not only from him but everyone else.
For the 2 hours of listening, I had hoped to of gotten a little more out of it, but it's based on something made to be a movie so 2 hours it is. Glad I got this for free!

This landmark production, perhaps the most ambitious radio project ever attempted, began when Star Wars creator George Lucas donated the story rights to an NPR affiliate. Writer Brian Daley adapted the film's highly visual script to the special demands and unique possibilities of radio, creating a more richly textured tale with greater emphasis on character development.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would, if they were curious. It has added information that made more sense than what the film lead on.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I thought the added background of Luke was interesting.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunite as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, joining an ensemble of original cast members in an out-of-this-world production.

Well Damn....
Reviewed: 07-20-17
Would you try another book from the authors and/or the narrators?
You know I'm not entirely sure cause I'm unfamiliar with the workings of Joe Harris but I expected more out of Carter.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I'll go back to some Star Wars I suppose.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I suppose the narration did as it had to help provide the same atmosphere of the tv series so you gotta have the dates and times in there somehow.
Do you think The X-Files: Cold Cases needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I would think there would be as there are unexplained missing characters who briefly appeared.
Any additional comments?
Truthfully I was disappointed a bit. Duchovny really just phoned it in cold read style and I didn't think he was interested in doing this thing at all, just collect an easy pay check. Out of all the actors and original cast he bummed me out the most.

Not as great as I hoped
Reviewed: 05-31-17
I've seen the movie and usually read the novels of movies I've seen to find out what changes were made or cut that could of made the story slightly different. In a way this novel plays out a lot like the movie and I'm not even completely done yet. There are lots of added dialogue and scenes that would of made the characters more enjoyable and not wasted like the film variant.
However the performance was rather dull almost flat. This would of helped with music or some sound effects to really feel like you're in a sci-fi horror genre but alas nothing.
Really disappointed since I can finish these in a day or two but this book has taken me now a week to listen and hard to finish.

Taking place just before aliens this sci-fi adventure answers what exactly happens to the colonists on lv426.
I did notice that there were a few areas of the story that happen to be mirrored off of an old dark horse comic telling a much similar story such as newts families demise.
The cast was excellently played even bringing back a couple of the original cast members from the Cameron film.
I hope audible does more just like this notnonly for this franchise but others that are popular in mainstream pop culture.

What did you like best about Into the Void? What did you like least?
A story of the ancient order of the Jedi was always something that fascinated me as a kid and now as an adult I finally get to enjoy some of the stories of the times before the republic.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Honestly it felt underachieved. If anything overall the story felt less like a novel and more like a short story.
Which scene was your favorite?
Probably the flashbacks were my favorite overall.
Was Into the Void worth the listening time?
I felt like the story could of been longer, but I was done listening to this a lot faster than I thought I would.
Any additional comments?
If you're any bit curious over what the Jedi were like long before the war with the Sith, or even the formation of the Republic, give it a listen. But the story is very short and after all the events it's very lack luster for an ending.
