The prequel after the sequel

I watched this movie in theaters and disliked for many reasons, number one being that this movie was designed to be an Alien prequel but left more questions about their origins more than before. But this rant/rating isn't supposed to dissect the movie, but the book itself. So this tie-in movie novelization did NOT answer any of the questions either, but the 'ride' and play by play of the character actions were phenomenal. I could see and feel each emotion of the character as if it were actually playing. It was a true script adaptation that I thoroughly enjoyed and I would read this book again and again just to read how real action is done. Many books are so stilted and give either too many or too little behind the scenes, but this was just right. I'd recommend whether you've seen the Covenant movie or not. Or you could just skip the movie and read this gem.

Another great section of canon

I don’t want to go too in depth, but to think this part of the alien saga really hit home. Characters were excellent and unique in their own ways. They developed without seeming to have force behind them, they just were. I didn’t feel like there was some sort of angle to the story outside of us reflecting on our own humanity and our uncertainty in the universe as we know it. Excellent narrator as always. I saw most of the twists coming but not all, and after my extensive alien saga knowledge, that was great. I even learned early lore of the universe that I didn’t know.

Was hesitant to purchase. No regrets.

Follows the movie script very well. Intensity of the story comes through. Good narration. Looking forward to others from the series.

A welcome addition to the movie. Lots of extras!

An absolute must if you're an Alien junkie! Lots of extra details not included in Alien Covenant.

Just like the Movie

This book is almost exactly like the movie with some extra details here and there. A bit more is explained with David and his thinking. That's what is great about books is you can get into someone's mind and know what they are thinking versus just seeing their facial expressions and guessing. My only complaint is what everyone else complains about, the narrator. Tom Taylorson can not do woman's voices or do yelling/screaming voices. He sounds like he is mocking the person. I actually laughed out loud every time he did those voices, which was great for a laugh but it ruined the moment which was suppose to be intense. So overall, great book but you could get away with just watching the movie if you wanted to.

The performer made this book come alive

I am a recent convert to audiobooks the problem for me has always been finding someone who can actually read and intone the emotions and story properly, and the reader for this book was most excellent! it also helps to be able to find a voice that resonates with you and as I was listening to this audiobook I keep getting more drawn in and was thinking this reader really needs a high production he is just that good and as far as the story goes this one is far superior to the movie. I am an avid Alien fan and I wish more and more Hollywood would realize our good our good scripts are in these books but try telling that to a woke Hollywood determined to destroy our childhoods for pandering. Anyway good story good performance and am looking so forward to listening to the reader again!

no spoilers, but the end ofnthe novelization is prior to the film
character development, and method of impregnation are excellent
