Story
Jason arrives at a kingdom in peril and he's surprised to discover that it's not his job to save it. With the authorities fulfilling their responsibilities (for once), he looks forward to some quiet time to rest and recuperate. The locals might not find ceaseless monster onslaughts and an interdimensional invasion relaxing, but Jason has had a rough few years. He's doing his best to let go of his anger. While his team is caught up in duty, Jason has no shortage of people looking to interfere with his rest. Enemies—old and new—are circling, and even would-be allies are trouble.

I enjoy that Jason’s return was action packed. Creation of interesting characters that have the potential to become Jason’s partner kept my interest.
Looking forward to see what happens in the next book

Story
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Jason rules
Reviewed: 01-10-24
Jason keeps you listening over most of the noise of the book. Positive: great story that has several hooks that peaks interest in seeing what next. Characters are solid and the writer plays with your empathy. Negative: The narrative of the powers, spells, damage and others RPG elements is snooze worthy. I waded through it because the story is great.
Jason will keep me coming back for more.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Adventure I want to go on.
Reviewed: 09-29-23
I both enjoyed and found the storylines frustrating. The key character whining about the power thrust towards. Her blindness was emphasized too much and I almost stop listening to the story.
I admit that the potential of the continued story is exciting. Call me selfish but would like a hero to willing pick up the power and wield it.
I don’t want to spoil the story but it was worth the time spent. Best wishes for continued success to J.A.Andrews.

Understanding the CEO

For years I have missed judged the motivation and success of T.D. Jakes mostly based on my own observations. I see hypocrisy in religious leaders.
T.D. Jakes explain that he is a leader in business and faith (much more).
Often the words, “Jesus didn’t have a Rolex”, was a wall against this amazing leader.
This book is amazing and I plan to reference it often in the near future. I have walk into many rooms and found success. However, the stories, concepts, and teaching has changed how I will walk into the next room.
I acknowledge the business leader and inspirational leader…both are blessed in this one man. The wall is down and I am listening. Great book.

Story
Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

Story
Joe Owen tells it like it was in this evocative story of a marine rifle company in the uncertain, early days of the Korean War. His powerful description of close combat in the snow-covered mountains of the Chosin Reservoir and of the survival spirit of his Marines provide a gritty real-life view of frontline warfare. As a lieutenant who was with them from first muster in California, Owen was in a unique position to see the hastily assembled mix of some 200 regulars and raw reservists harden into a superb Marine rifle company. The action and narrative move fast as the company learns to fight under enemy fire, eat frozen rations, and keep pushing forward when its wounded and dead go down.
