About this listen

The apocalypse will be televised!

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible.

In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground.

The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot. A dungeon so enormous, it circles the entire globe.

Only a few dare venture inside. But once you're in, you can't get out. And what's worse, each level has a time limit. You have but days to find a staircase to the next level down, or it's game over. In this game, it's not about your strength or your dexterity. It's about your followers, your views. Your clout. It's about building an audience and killing those goblins with style.

You can't just survive here. You gotta survive big.

You gotta fight with vigor, with excitement. You gotta make them stand up and cheer. And if you do have that "it" factor, you may just find yourself with a following. That's the only way to truly survive in this game - with the help of the loot boxes dropped upon you by the generous benefactors watching from across the galaxy.

They call it Dungeon Crawler World. But for Carl, it's anything but a game.

One of the best!

Dinniman is probably the best gamelit guy out there. This book was a ton of fun. I eagerly await the next in the series!

This book is awesome!

I highly recommend this if you want a funny litrpg style book. It has been a blast and I for one can’t wait for the next one. Jeff Hays knocked it out of the park on the voice.

Best book I've listened to in years.

The world is well built and compelling. based in our world as a template to begin on and as the book progresses it seeds a very large and interesting universe that has me putting together the hints and info to truly understand how the governments and corporations effect the plot and setting.

Characters are absolutely loveable. They are dynamic and constantly growing and changing but the writer does a fantastic job of retaining who the characters are at their core through the book while still allowing them to grow and learn.

The voice acting by Jeff Hays is amazing, every character is giving a unique and memorable voice, accent, and inflection. From the goblins roaming the halls of floor one to Carl himself, this man does a fantastic job of bringing all the characters to life in a way that made me really invested each time I started up the audio book.

Overall, Dungeon Crawler Carl is a unique and absolutely fantastic book with a compelling narrative that will leave you wanting more. Good thing I get to move on to the second book, because the, "I wish it wasn't over" feeling is deep for this book.

neeewww achievement!

wow! This is a FUN series loads of laughs never a dull moment and you really start to care about the characters even some of the villans. if you love Litrpg and are a fan of Ready player one, spaceteam, or Apocalyptic Nomadic warrior books, you're gonna be hooked. Based on each level being 1 book this looks like it's gonna be a long series with great run time and Jeff Hays Knocks it out of the park, he gives Carl an almost Brock Sampson kind of vibe. Get it, listen, and start crawling people.

Surprisingly good

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. I loved how Dinniman set this story up. It was all just weird and unique. I feel like it got a little bogged down as it progressed, but overall, well worth a credit.

Also Jeff Hays might be my new favorite narrator
