Publisher's summary

Sable just wants an escape from the corner of the world she's trapped in, but what lies outside is far more dangerous…

Sable would do anything to break free from the ruthless gang boss she's indebted to before he corrupts her younger sister or discovers Sable's magical ability to sense the truth in people's words.

In a last desperate attempt at freedom, Sable stumbles into unexpected help—Atticus, the famous playwright, and his traveling theater troupe. Far more than a means of escape, the mismatched band of actors is destined to become the family Sable never knew she wanted. They help awaken her magic until she becomes the burning symbol of truth that the entire land needs.

As war looms and corruption eats away at the halls of power, Sable's ability to sense—and share—the truth may be the only thing that can save them all.

The Keeper Origins is a complete epic fantasy trilogy with rich characters and a delightfully optimistic flavor that stays just on the right side of epic with all the cozy feels. It includes all three books:

Dragon's Reach Sable's rise from a trapped, indebted thief to an actress with words strong enough to change a city.

Raven's Ruin—Embroiled in the politics and scheming of the priories, Sable finds herself drawn to the rebels who fight against them.

Phoenix Rising—With war on the doorstep, Sable and the troupe struggle to keep the foreign Empire from conquering and the corruption in the priories from destroying them from within.

Really good

Loved it. Cried a few times, which surprised me. The friendship, humour and char dev was super-strong.

My biggest issue is mostly the final book, and maybe the last 1/3 of the second book. There was such a cluster of things happening, sometimes it felt as though not enough attention was given to certain arcs. I really enjoyed the first book because things were given the chance to breathe and grow, but twists and turns to the plot seem to pop up every chapter later in the series. It's okay to let things settle and breathe. Sometimes I feel like authors feel as though they need to pump out action every other moment otherwise the reader will lose interest (though to be fair, the amount of times I've seen reviews say something is "slow" I usually find just decently paced character/world building, so maybe the pressure is real here?)

Regardless, it was a good run and I was really endeared to the characters. Really happy I bought the trilogy. Was well worth it.

Story construction

JA Andrews does a really good job keeping the reader engaged throughout the story. I felt that even though certain events were foreshadowed, I was still committed to finishing the entire book, because it was written with different factions of engagement. It really just comes down to the story being constructed so well, and the characters are so engaging that, even though some character mistakes are so obvious, I was still committed to the story.

One credit for three books is astounding. J Andrews does not let you down. I’ve enjoyed six of her books now. I will definitely read more from her.

There is one item that I would complain about, but it would be a spoiler, so, instead of being one of those people that says spoilers are ahead, you’ll have to listen and form your own opinions

This is a wonderful clean, well written and narrated book/s, It’s one of my favorites!

I don’t normally rate what I read/listen to, but I felt I needed to do so on this. If you are looking for something that is written in the way similar to the way Brandon Sanderson writes, then this is the book for you..This was a clean, well written and well narrated fantasy book that does not have vulgarity in it. It was suspenseful, creative, very descriptive, funny, and kept me wondering what else was going to happen until the very end! I definitely want to read/listen to more of books written by this author!

One of the best best written and audio books ever!!

This series of books is by far one of the best I have had the pleasure to experience and enjoy. The story line captures you and keeps going so you feel like you are there with the characters. and Kate Reading oratory and how her voice changes for the characters is just sublime! I could listen to her talk all night...(and did on my restless nights) Bravo to all!!

Excellent story and story telling

The Keepers Origins (and the Keepers series) are some of the best stories that I've listened to. The characters and storyline are well written, and along with the storyteller, it kept me totally immersed.
