Story
Before a vision of a mysterious "Lady" invited Clark Strand and Perdita Finn to pray the rosary, they were not only uninterested in becoming Catholic but finished with institutional religion altogether. Their main spiritual concerns were the fate of the planet and the future of their children and grandchildren in an age of ecological collapse. But this Lady barely even referred to the Church and its proscriptions. Instead, she spoke of the miraculous power of the rosary to transform lives and heal the planet, and revealed the secrets within the rosary’s prayers and mysteries.

A Beautiful Book for a Woman Who Needs Connection
Reviewed: 09-09-24
It’s hard to put into words exactly how this book affected me, but it brought me back to a spiritualism I didn’t even know I was missing. I believe it’s a beautiful listen for anybody but especially women who need to feel like they have something deeper and more loving Surrounding and supporting them. Not religious but also not excluding of Christianity.

Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

Story
For years, Monsanto declared that their product Roundup, the world’s most widely used weed killer, was safe. But that all changed in 2015, when the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) analyzed data from scientific studies and concluded that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, was probably carcinogenic. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) disagreed, other regulatory agencies got involved, and scientists clamored to understand the link between glyphosate and cancer.

What a joy to listen to! Brian laughing at his own stories via the narration was such a lovable treat. An amazing recount of his life leading up to AC/DC. Wished it could have gone on another 9 hours to talk about his life with the band after he joined. Wonderfully written though, love, love, loved it!

With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.

Could not stop listening!

I finish this audiobook in about four days of gardening. I could not stop listening. The two narrators of the different portrayals in this book do such a beautiful job with their accents. The story is heartfelt and also heart wrenching and makes one want to believe so badly. The book is beautifully well written and a cliffhanger on every page without trying to be. I cannot recommend this book enough and I’m thankful to the author for educating me on the history behind the story. Highly recommend!

Story
In the summer of 1937, Amelia Earhart is the most famous woman in the world - a record-breaking pilot, a best-selling author, and a modern woman shattering the glass ceiling in the early days of aviation. And then she vanishes. In Tampa, Florida, 15-year-old Lizzie Friedlander spends her afternoons glued to her father’s radio, tapping into the enormity of a world she longs to travel. Lizzie can hardly believe her ears when she picks up a radio signal from a faraway source that sets her heart racing: “Amelia Earhart calling SOS!”

NOT A CHILDREN’S BOOK!!!!

Was shocked to be listening to this with my 5 and 7 yr olds to have the F word dropped unexpectedly and multiple times!!! Stopped listening and believe this book should have had a disclaimer. Curious as to how the story ended, as are just children, however, I refuse to keep listening.
