About this listen

For years, Monsanto declared that their product Roundup, the world’s most widely used weed killer, was safe. But that all changed in 2015, when the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) analyzed data from scientific studies and concluded that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, was
probably carcinogenic. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) disagreed, other regulatory agencies got involved, and scientists clamored to understand the link between glyphosate and cancer.

Toxic Exposure tells the true story of numerous patients who developed nonHodgkin lymphoma, a form of cancer, after using Roundup and their ensuing trials against Monsanto (now owned by Bayer, one of the largest agrochemical companies in the world). Written by Chadi Nabhan, MD, MBA, a
cancer specialist, this is the only book by an expert physician witness who testified in the first three trials against Monsanto.

Dr. Nabhan takes the listener behind the scenes of these pivotal trials, explaining key features of the cases, including how Monsanto downplayed the IARC’s scientific conclusions, may have worked to change how the EPA classified glyphosate, and conducted extensive PR campaigns designed to minimize the
public’s perception of the negative health effects of its product. He also provides details about the other expert witnesses who reviewed the evidence, analyzed the science, and stood up to this agricultural behemoth in the courtroom.

Discover the inside story of corporate influence, courtroom drama, legal discourse, monumental verdicts, and the ensuing media frenzy surrounding this massive uncovering of the truth and the years of scientific and legal work that led up to it.

A first-hand account of corporate greed’s effect on people

This is a phenomenal book. Gripping storytelling, an honest account of the widespread effects of corporate greed, the lengths they will go to not be held accountable and the lack of respect for other humans. Brilliantly narrated by the author. Highly recommend it.

Phenomenal Story and Read!!!

Great story line with real life events, science and law. Nicely read by author himself.
Author is able to easily articulate complex science while staying honest about medicine as well as patient care.
Very powerful messages here about corporate greed and our justice system.

Individual Patient Care over Corporate Greed

One of the rare authors who powerfully articulates complex scientific knowledge so everyone can understand and get behind the ultimate message; individual patient care over corporate greed. And not just any corporation; one of the largest most powerful companies in the world who controls the world's agricultural food sources and apparently only cares about making money and using their influence to cut corners, screw science, buyoff government oversight, and hide real life results and consequences. Some of the highest paid lawyers in the country up against individuals whose only fault was to use a product that everyone in the world believed was safe and effective above all other products; ultimately causing them to get cancer due to it's unknown consequences an missing label of misuse. I loved the real life court interactions that showed the extent that literally billions of dollars would go to in the attempt to hide what they did while wanting to crush the small sick individual users as well as the experts, scientists, doctors, and lawyers who only wanted to prove that a product when used incorrectly at no fault of the individual due to inadequate non-labeled information could and would cause cancer in that individual. This is a true story of a immigrant coming to the US and becoming one of the best at what he does and trying to affect a true difference in the world and give back constantly to his individual patients. A+ true story read by the author himself recounting his real life experiences, thoughts, and truths while teaming up with a defence and going up against one of the most powerful companies ever; winning again and again because truth was on their side. A must read and if you are like me, a must "listen."

Great book! Strongly recommend!

Toxic Exposure" by Chad S. Nabhan is a riveting account of his experience as an expert witness in a court hearing on glyphosate and its relation to lymphoma. Dr. Nabhan's firsthand knowledge and expertise in oncology and hematology bring a unique perspective to this complex issue. The book is not only informative, but also deeply personal, as Dr. Nabhan shares his own lofe stories, family dynamics and his experience with the patients who were exposed to RoundUp. Historical book! The book sheds light on the urgent need for greater awareness of toxic substances and their effects on human health. Overall, a compelling read for anyone interested in the intersection of toxicology and cancer. Good book for hematology and oncology fellows and anyone in the field of oncology!

Fascinating true story.

The book is beautifully narrated by the author, Chadi Nabhan. A true story that intersects research, medicine and law to tell the events first hand of the three Monsanto cases.

Great Book

This was truly an enjoyable book. I was unsure what to expect, but it was recommended by a friend, so I gave it a listen. While the subject matter (roundup and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma) could have otherwise suggested a scientific manuscript, this read more like a John Grisham Novel. The author does a great job of drawing the reader into his front row seat to one of the most significant product liability trials of the modern era. This story is particularly important right now and has many potential parallels with respect to the Pandemic, corporate corruption, and big pharma (another branch of the chemical industry). Bravo, Dr. Nabhan!.
