Story
“I'm pregnant. It’s yours. I’m having it, and unless you want it, I’m putting it up for adoption.” Those were the words that changed Levi Steele’s life before he was even legally allowed to drink. There was never any question about whether he would keep his daughter, and eight years later, he doesn’t have a single regret. He owns a successful contracting company, he’s part of the Dark Knights motorcycle club, and Joey’s happiness is his top priority. None of that would be possible without the help of Joey’s beautiful and selfless aunt Tara.

Cute Romance Novel
Reviewed: 08-28-23
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Aidan Snow is always worth a listen. He can make a any book enjoyable.
Why is it when you finally give up on your childhood crush that is when they decide to recognize you? This trope is incredibly frustrating when it's something that happens way too frequently in real life, but without the same happy ending as romance novels.
Tara and Levi are perfectly matched. Their romance is sexy, but also incredibly sweet. Both Aidan Snow and Ava Erickson portray these characters well. They give them voices that fit them perfectly.

Unexpected Twist
Reviewed: 08-28-23
I can honestly say that I did not expect the ending at all. The mystery throughout had me questioning different directions.
I loved the relationship between the lead characters. The story overall was kind of ridiculous, but I gave the overall a 4 star because the ending twist actually got me and I couldn't figure it out completely before the end.
Tara Langella and Troy Duran are a great narration combo. I love the blend of both of their voices. They just seemed to fit together.

Story
Jude "Lucky" Lucketti wasn't just a sexy, brooding construction worker. He was my own personal hero, showing up in all the right places at the right times. Like when my car broke down and I needed a ride home, and when I face-planted on the sidewalk right in front of him and had to be taken to the emergency room. We became friends, and it didn't matter that he was 16 years older than me. We had a lot in common - like our love of old rock music and vintage fast cars and our aversion to relationships.

I really enjoyed the narration dual of Desiree Ketchum and Aiden Snow. I can listen to Aiden Snow all day and night.
Once you get over the age difference between the lead characters, the story sucks you in. I was rooting for them the entire time. I really wanted to spend some more time in their world at the end... although I think that was so I could listen to Aiden Snow a bit more 😉

Both Seemed Rushed
Reviewed: 08-28-23
This dual story novel is on par with Harlequin novels. Both stories were rushed. The first book - New Year at the Boss's Bidding - was so unbelievable that it was difficult for me to get through it. Theseus Discovers His Heir was slightly better.
I honestly don't expect much out of Harlequin novels - so if you take that in mind, these books weren't too bad. Both narrators were mediocre for me.

Overall Good Romance Novel
Reviewed: 08-28-23
I rated this book a little lower. Just a 3 star book because truthfully the two leads were making annoyed with their will they-won't they dynamics. Just when you think they've finally got to a good place, something gets in their way and scares them again.
Bright side in this book was the cute little girl. She made me smile every time.
Narration was shared between Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt. Both were equally good. I didn't think one was better than the other, which can sometimes be the case.

Story
Since his return from war, the Duke of Ashbury's to-do list has been short and anything but sweet: brooding, glowering, menacing London ne'er-do-wells by night. Now there's a new item on the list. He needs an heir - which means he needs a wife. When Emma Gladstone, a vicar's daughter turned seamstress, appears in his library wearing a wedding gown, he decides on the spot that she'll do.

An Enjoyable Romance Novel
Reviewed: 08-28-23
I don't rate romance novels high in the star scale because there really isn't much substance. They are fun quick books that I enjoy to pass the time, but don't put much stock in remembering much.
I found The Duchess Deal to be an enjoyable romance novel. It's one I wouldn't mind listening to again. I really enjoyed Mary Jane Wells narrating. I believe this was the first time I listened to a book with her narration and was pleasantly happy with it.

Politically Charged Romance Novel

A political agenda wrapped up in a romance novel.
There is so much to unpack with this romance novel. If you don't go into the political side of this, the romance was alright. I wasn't super thrilled with the male lead, and also found the female annoying many times. There were some good emotional punches that did get me in my feels, but overall, I found this book mediocre.
It was a very nice performance though by Rosalyn Landor. I would listen to move books narrated by her.

Every time I read about a new murder and the details behind it, I question whether or not people are worth trusting. Thomas French brings to life the murder of a young woman and the frantic search for her killer and the shock of whom it turns out to be.
Despite the subject of this book, Mikael's voice is transfixing as he narrates. He is absolutely perfect and I enjoyed listening to him the whole time.

In 1914, the war which was to have been wrapped up by Christmas had - in reality - only just begun, as all sides entrenched themselves deeper into the Great War. Christmas Eve, 1914 follows one company of British officers as they rotate forward to spend their Christmas on the front lines, a mere 80 yards from the German guns. Upper- and working-class men and boys are thrown together into one trench and struggle to survive.

In the trenches of World War I, a group of British soldiers must go into No Man's Land to fight against German foes on Christmas Eve. Instead of fighting as they expected, what happens can only be described as a Christmas miracle. Two enemies take a break to remember what Christmas is truly about.
This was a sweet and heart-wrenching play-like story from Audible Originals. Only an hour and 13 minutes long, this short story still managed to play with all of your emotions from beginning to end.
