Story
It begins as an innocent trip to the deli-mart, on a quest for nachos. But Stephanie Plum and her partner, Lula, are clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time. A robbery leads to an explosion, which leads to the destruction of yet another car. It would be just another day in the life of Stephanie Plum, except that she becomes the target of a gang—and of an even scarier, more dangerous force that comes to Trenton. With super bounty hunter Ranger acting more mysteriously than ever (and the tension with vice cop Joe Morelli getting hotter), she finds herself with a decision to make.

Story
Monday mornings aren’t supposed to be fun, but they should be predictable. However, on this particular Monday, Stephanie Plum knows that something is amiss when she turns up for work at Vinnie’s Bail Bonds to find that longtime office manager Connie Rosolli, who is as reliable as the tides in Atlantic City, hasn’t shown up. Stephanie’s worst fears are confirmed when she gets a call from Connie’s abductor. He says he will only release her in exchange for a mysterious coin that a recently murdered man left as collateral for his bail.

Top three best things in this book
1) the frequency of which mentioning donuts made me want to go get some to eat along with them
2) Mrs Plums continued knitting of the thing
3) The fact Rex the hamster is still alive surpassing the logical age of the average hamster.
Bonus: grandma Bella finally gave the eye to someone with an instant reaction which was hilarious.
Otherwise: tanks name was previously revealed to be Pierre in an older book when he was hospitalized. Minor oversight but i adore tank.

Story
After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape...or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

Loving the progression in this episode of the series. Stephanie has a subtle yet notable evolution compared to her previous levels of indecision. And i love that she admits to being addicted to the danger & intrigue of her job.

Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and no one knows this better than New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. Dead bodies are showing up in shallow graves on the empty construction lot of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds. No one is sure who the killer is, or why the victims have been offed, but what is clear is that Stephanie’s name is on the killer’s list.

Good but wish there was less Lula
Reviewed: 01-01-23
Love this series, and have been a fan for a long time. I wish there was more Sally Sweet & Mooner cameos. By the end of book 15 I am definitely bored of Lula’s character. All she ever does is talk about food & screw things up for Stephanie in really dumb ways. It was funny at first but by the time this book came around it was just overdoing it for me.
Besides that I really wish Steph would get down with Ranger for pete sake. She STILL hasn’t since their first time and its a buzz kill knowing shes such a tease to him but wont put out. If he’s as desirable as the author makes him seem then whats the dang hold up.

Story
All New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has to do is bring in semi-retired bail jumper Eddie DeChooch. For an old man he's still got a knack for slipping out of sight...and raising hell. How else can Stephanie explain the bullet-riddled corpse in Eddie's garden? Who else would have a clue as to why two of Stephanie's friends suddenly vanished? For answers Stephanie has the devil to pay: her mentor, Ranger. The deal? He'll give Stephanie all the help she needs...if she gives him everything he wants.

I definitely enjoyed the story. The wonky part of this recording was the random music at the end of some chapters. I think they were trying to be suspenseful?? I am definitely a bigger fan of Morelli vs Ranger in terms of love interest character developments.

Stephanie Plum, Trenton, New Jersey's favorite pistol-packing, condom-carrying bounty hunter, is back and on the trail of a revenge-seeking waitress who's skipped bail. With the help of 73-year-old Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker Lula, a transvestite musician named Sally Sweet, and the all-too-hospitable, all-too-sexy Joe Morelli, Stephanie might just catch her woman.

Story
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, packing a whole lot of attitude. This time around, she's on the trail of Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the working-class burg of Trenton, New Jersey, who has just shot his best friend. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations.
