Ridiculously good
Reviewed: 02-21-21
Man, that was an adventure! Complex story with several simultaneous venues and people but it all was held together. It was so cinematic, like a movie in my head and all the cuts from scene to scene. Boom! like Sam would say. And the narration was suberb. And humour, and romance, and violence, adventure, total thriller.
I'm totally high on this book, but I only just finished, didn't I :)
Recommend. Love the author, gonna check what else books are available by this narrator.

Story
Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

Hello, Finland calling!!

One of the sweetest stories I've listened to in a while. Usually don't like these radio drama type books, but this worked really well. Liked his and her voices. Loved the Finland connection, especially as they were pretty much correct, points to the author!

Story
She adores her bright, funny, handsome stepbrother's company, and even if her friend, Lisa, didn't tell her constantly what gorgeous, ripped hottie he turned out to be, she remembers what he looks like - because his was the last sweet face she saw before a high school case of meningitis left her blind. When Maddie comes back from the baby shower feeling sorry for herself - still a virgin at 22, afraid no man will ever come calling, and her just ripe for the plucking - Greg tells her he has a surprise.

Wish this story was made into a proper book
Reviewed: 10-08-20
I read this book as the little erotica story it was written to be. And it was good as such. But i've been looking for a book with a blind main character, that wouldn't be a cliche and which wouldn't end in he or she regaining eyesight. As a blind person myself I find it insulting that happy ending seems to require becoming able-bodied. Of course this was just a skecht of a story but I enjoyed it. And I also enjoyed the massage/fysiotherapy theme, since I myself enjoy being massaged a lot, but only as a physical therapy. I kinda wish someone would grap this storyline and make it into a full lenght novel. I'd read it.

Story
I'm writing this letter because it's highly doubtful I'll ever garner the courage to say this to your face. So, here goes. We're totally wrong for each other. You're the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I'm just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England. But here's the thing... for some bloody reason, I can't stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.

Found lacking
Reviewed: 07-23-20
I had high hopes for this book, but right from the get-go there was something missing. Somehow the writing felt unfinished, details and scenes not thought through, characters not coming alive. I've noticed that for me, when I'm really into a book, I can visualize the characters and their movements and everything is fluid and life-like. Here, my visualization resembled more like a 1990's video game. Details were mentioned, like the main characters' height difference and then never mentioned or utilized again, story development felt jumpy etc.
Even the narration or the narrators didn't work for me this time. Main male character was supposed to have a british accent, but I never really found out what kind. Sometimes he sounded very working class (nothing wrong with that) sometimes there was a hint that he was supposed to have a posh accent, but never conclusive.
So, I ended up not finishing this book.

Performed by Regina Hall and featuring Mindy Kaling, a captivating romantic comedy with a thrilling sci-fi twist! Not a fan of multi-cast narration
Reviewed: 07-23-20
Pretty good story, though I would have liked it to have gone deeper into the development of the AI learning human behaviour etc.
Technically there was nothing wrong with the multi-cast narration, but I'm just not a fan. If I want to listen to several people reading a story, then I will listen to radio plays. If it's a book I want to listen to, then I prefer one or maximum two narrators.

Ridiculously funny vampir story. Not earthshattering but gave definitely some good sniggers. Suites those who like vampyre books but doon't take their heroes or heroines tooseriously.
