HAPPINESS RESEARCH, straight up. What is happiness? How do our circumstances affect happiness? Why is the word “gratitude” kinda cringey? What can we do to feel better? Should we feel guilty for feeling happy? When is positivity “toxic?” In this encore of an episode favorite, Yale cognitive scientist, Eudemonologist, and host of The Happiness Lab podcast Dr. Laurie Santos chats about how scientists measure human happiness and what their research has shown helps achieve it, even during the worst of times. I absolutely love Lori Santos. I love everything she said I want to have a transcript of it to share with my friends this episode was fantastic. I gave a lot of insight I really appreciated the thought that no matter how dark it gets how much s*** is going on it's important to keep yourself positive so that you can be part of the good change because if you're negative you're not going to have that ability to to make things better. that's a great reminder. I would love to get a transcript of this one if possible. thank you thank you Alie you're amazing!

At 85, she isn’t going to leave things to chance. Her end will be on her terms. With one call to a clinic in Switzerland, a plan is set in motion. Story
They are Hazel, James, Aubrey, and Colette. A classical pianist from London, a British would-be architect turned soldier, a Harlem-born ragtime genius in the US Army, and a Belgian orphan with a gorgeous voice and a devastating past. Their story, as told by goddess Aphrodite, who must spin the tale or face judgment on Mount Olympus, is filled with hope and heartbreak, prejudice and passion, and reveals that, though war is a formidable force, it's no match for the transcendent power of love.

Absolutely Beautiful!
Reviewed: 08-02-21
It is so beautifully written. Historically accurate. And being told by the perspective of Aphroditie, Aries, Zeus, Apolo and Hades is brilliant... and theirs is a story that is humorous and tender... and perfect.
Aphrodities examples of love, (the two stories that unfold), are beautiful and heart wrenching (goodness, especially the delicate chapters by Hades..) I fell in love with the characters myself!
So georgeous and tender are the words throughout...and absolutely lovely.
It is one of my favorite stories ever!
