Story
Rosie Belmont has been driving me wild for years. The good kind of wild. The bad kind of wild. But mostly the kind of wild that comes with wanting your best friend’s little sister and knowing you can’t have her. After living in the city, she comes blasting back into Rose Hill like a storm. Beautiful, messy, and chaotic. And one wide-eyed desperate plea for a job is all it takes for me to hire her.

My first Elsie Silver book! I love the Rose Hill world and loved how real it felt. The characters have their own personalities and don't fall flat. The banter was bantering. The smut was top tier.
I. Loved. It.
Narrators did fantastic, as always.

Story
Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandment finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading. Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, becomes something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future. Except the discovery of their bond would mean the death of each of them. There’s still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win. That’s how war works, right?

I didn't love the writing style which is why I think I disconnected so much from the story. There wasn't enough descriptive language to keep me engaged, and I get that's probably the point of these characters. They wouldn't write about the trees etc.

This was so good. So so good. It is the DEFINITION of Dark Romance, so if you're not well versed in the genre, this is not the book to read to explore it. The author does a great job of developing this world so it feels like it could exist anywhere (and I'm sure it does). You can tell she's done research on even just handguns, which I appreciated.
The narrators kept this spicy and engaging. I would read again!

Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential.

I felt so exposed listening to this because it really called me out in the most gentle way possible. Took tons of notes and will be applying this to my life. This book has something for everyone under the sun so I'm glad it was so broad. Some things I related to, some I didn't. Great balance. Brianna West is right... The Mountain IS YOU.

Story
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

ITS PERFECT!!!
Reviewed: 12-01-24
This was sinfully good. When I say I want a well written, well thought out dark romance, THIS is what I mean.
Every element of this book was believable. Author did her research and nothing felt like she just read it on Reddit and hoped for the best. I was fully invested in all characters and truly had no clue where we were going scene after scene. I loved being taken by surprise.
You can feel the attraction they have for each other so it's believable they would end up where they did by the end. The pacing was perfection. The banter was bantering. I was laughing out loud at the gym it was so good. I am also obsessed with the cat (obv, because how could you not be?)
The narrators were phenomenal and so perfect. Will be downloading more books from them as well.
I am all in Navessa Allen. Already pre-ordered the next book.

Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. I'm just going to list all the negatives:
Author spent more time TELLING than showing. I only understand these characters based on what she told me, not from what we saw.
Weird pacing and time jumps that were unclear.
Completely unlikable characters. Didn't enjoy a single person except Mark.
Did anyone even like each other in this book?
Jennifer Kim has an ultra distracting vocal cadence that goes up and down whenever she pleases and is completely flat 90% of the time.
Never made it to Julian Cihi's narration so no notes for him.
Read the plot synopsis on wiki- so glad I DNF'd.

Great narration and loved the Amy Sherman-Palladino forward. You can tell these women greatly respect and love each other which is refreshing since Hollywood is so cut throat. I loved hearing about her life from a Chorus Line through her career to present day.
