Publisher's summary

An enemies-to-lovers spicy romance set in the world of video gaming from the bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis—available only in audio!

Viola Bowen has the chance of a lifetime: to design a video game based on her all-time favorite book series. The only problem? Her co-lead is Jesse F-ing Andrews, a.k.a. her arch-nemesis. Jesse has made it abundantly clear over the years that he wants nothing to do with her–and Viola has no idea why.

When their bosses insist a wintery retreat is the perfect team-building exercise, Viola can’t think of anything worse. Being freezing cold in a remote mountain lodge knowing Jesse is right next door? No, thank you.

But as the snow piles on, Viola discovers there’s more to Jesse than she knew, and heat builds in more ways than one.

Two can play

The short and sweet you know and love from Ali Hazlewood. All her stories are uniquely their own but something about her stories always have this underlying familiarness she brings out so well without it being so specifically the same as her other books. Enjoyed this short read.

Great narration

Super quick read. Miscommunication, pining, work rivals, he’s a cinnamon roll, they’re both video game geeks. Spicy, work retreat. It ends before we get too deep, but assume it’s an HEA.

10/10 Would Recommend

I don't know, sometimes I think, "maybe I've blown my love for Ali Hazelwood out of proportion, maybe I've just hyperfixated on her because we both love fanfiction and women in STEM". But NOPE. She blows my mind every goddamn time. My heart is so happy. Thank you, Ali, for sharing another incredible story with the world. We truly do not deserve you.

Formulaic and well delivered

Typical miscommunication workplace rivals to lovers romcom.
I enjoyed it even though it was extremely predictable. Laughed at several moments, enjoyed the pining, and wrap it up with a nice bow.

Spectacular give me 14 of em right now!

Sooo good! Anything Ali Hazelwood writes is a masterpiece. I am going to need 15 more chapters of Viola and Jesse because they were simply the cutest and most swoon worthy couple.

A Hazelwood Hallmark Story

It’s a perfectly condensed Ali original, making the “enemies to lovers” plot line short and sweet. And the backdrop is cozy! It reminded me of a Christmas romance without the holiday theming… if that makes sense.

Cute novella

This was a really cute quick read. Not super spicy but definitely enjoyable if you like her other books.

short and sweet

Short and to the point. A little different than Ali's normal style and I'm not mad about it at all. Love the bo nonsense, easy going story telling and especially love this light and easy listen.
