Without providing any spoilers I would just like to say that the writing is so incredible and it causes me to experience so many emotions all at once. There was a point in this one that had moved me so greatly I had to excuse myself from the room to go and have a little cry. Just great story telling!

Never at any point did they betray the memory of Michael Jackson as a pivotal part of music history but neither did they down play the impact made on the individuals whose lives were dramatically changed by their experiences with him as a person. Whether it was as a victim or a friend. Very well done.

Towards Zero: What is the connection among a failed suicide attempt, a wrongful accusation of theft against a schoolgirl, and the romantic life of a famous tennis player? To the casual observer, apparently nothing. But when a house party gathers at Gull’s Point, the seaside home of an elderly widow, earlier events come to a dramatic head. Ordeal By Innocence: According to the courts, Jacko Argyle bludgeoned his mother to death with a poker. The sentence was life imprisonment.

Story
Beautiful Caroline Crale was convicted of poisoning her husband, but just like the nursery rhyme, there were five other "little pigs" who could have done it: Philip Blake (the stockbroker), who went to market; Meredith Blake (the amateur herbalist), who stayed at home; Elsa Greer (the three-time divorcee), who had her roast beef; Cecilia Williams (the devoted governess), who had none; and Angela Warren (the disfigured sister), who cried all the way home.
Sixteen years later, Caroline's daughter is determined to prove her mother's innocence.

bad but interesting cases, terrible delivery

the cases covered by this "team" are very interesting however in order to listen you have to be willing to over look the absolute disregard from the podcast hosts. they do not treat these examples as people's real lives. they are tremendously devastating events in real people's lives but they act as if they're discussing the plot of a tv show.
i did take a break from listening due to their inappropriate level of giddiness but am still drawn merely for the details of the events.

It took a while to get into the story. Partly because of the pacing of the story but also because the narrator makes no effort to differentiate any of the characters voices so I am often guessing who it it is that is talking. The story was interesting enough that I tried to stick it through but just couldn't muscle the strength in the end.

By the end of the story I desperately hoped for a different ending contrary to the knowledge I already had regarding the Tudor era. I was invested in her story which is not always an occurrence with historical fiction. Great read!
