Story
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Ok…not great.

Ok…not great… and not worthy of a pulitzer in my opinion.
Another sad story full of expletives over and over since that apparently that makes books and shows more “real”.
I think it makes for lazy writing.

Jill and Derick knew a normal life wasn’t possible for them. As a star on the popular TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting, Jill grew up in front of viewers who were fascinated by her family’s way of life. She was the responsible, second daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle’s nineteen kids; always with a baby on her hip and happy to wear the modest ankle-length dresses with throat-high necklines.

Story
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Betrays men and religion as evil and ignorant
Reviewed: 01-10-23
What a waste of money and time. I am all for books encouraging women to be their best self, but this book tried to do this at the expense of portraying most men as people of faith as either evil or stupid.

Another liberal agenda driven novel
Reviewed: 06-15-22
This book makes women seem like unfulfilled whiners, until they wake up and become liberal achievers. This author needs to get a clue that Republican conservative woman are intelligent equals to men and not backward woman who feel like their only place is barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen. What a terrible stereotype this author portrays of Republican conservative women.
Just another agenda pushing book made to separate and divide.

The readers voice of Simba was almost painful to listen to. Simba was such a great character in the original series and while I understand the new series has different reader, Simba’s regal nature was lost and he almost sounds mentally slow in this rendition. The rest of her character voices are fine ….just not nearly as good as the original.

So sad
Reviewed: 11-22-19
She speaks about love and acceptance...but what she really means....is only if you believe what she believes.
She mocks white conservatives and has no respect for other people’s views and beliefs. She has bought into the lie that southern conservatives are hateful, deceived people....when nothing could be farther from the truth. This book only widens the racial divide and it saddens me when it could have been a book to bring together different races and beliefs.

Story
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.
