Lots of productivity books seem to sacrifice the important aspects of personal life. This was a breath of fresh air that seemed to do the opposite. There are quite a few things I have taken away from this book that I am confident will improve my quality of life in total.

Enjoyed all of it. Listened daily for 50 days straight. It’s not that I learned anything new. I’ve read this type of content before. But they word things in a way that gives fresh perspective on it all; enough for a real, practical, and lasting change to take place in my approach to my marriage and relationship with Christ. Priceless insight is found in this book. Pick it up if you “dare.”

This was a gem, filled with legit truth. He does not shy away from breaking down what it really means to go after God, who’s already pursuing us. This is a great gap filler for the already theological mind, and an even better place to begin for anyone.

Decent Book; Couldn’t Relate to All The Points

This was a good book that I learned a few things from, though at times it was admittedly a challenge to follow. I found that I left this book more infused with deep belief in myself, and more eager to be honest with myself than when I first came to it, I’d recommend Relentless, especially for anyone with a habit of getting in their own way.

Hope for a Burnt Out Dad and Husband

This book is like a 8 piece nugget meal. Each chapter has encouraging and challenging points that are easy to digest and in a memorable story form. I found myself in silence at the end, contemplating lots of things about my life as a dad, husband, and disciple of Christ. I couldn’t help but feel less tired of it and little more hopeful about it all.

I enjoyed this book. It is the right measure of raw and real material that truly sets a marriage free enough to work and even flourish for life. The best thing this book gives is real hope.

I unknowingly applied some of the principles of this book to actually read (listen to) it in a way that would help me get more out of it. Committing to one chapter per day (10 to 15 minutes), and here I am at the end of just a few weeks actually feeling like that was time well spent. I’ve gained some practical insight that’s given me hope for real progress in other aspects and arenas of my life. I highly recommend checking out, and applying, Atomic Habits.

I like how insightful this book is in regards to the productivity “addiction”, if you will. It really gets to the core of what drives most inhabitants of Get-things-done-opolis.

Things get political toward the end, which doesn’t discount the prior weightier content that much, but wasn’t my cup of tea. There were also a few occasions where stats he hung his hat on might not hold up well to articulated opposing viewpoints.

Nonetheless… I enjoyed the journey this book took me on and would recommend it to “recovering” productivity nerds.

Great compilation of basic wisdom and practicality backed by the credibility of real experiences from the author.

I would recommend the majority of the chapters not only to software developers, but to individuals in all professions, especially those with an office job.
