Working with the successor chapters of the Blood Angels, Dante commands that the area around the Red Scar be scouted in preparation for reconquest. The Red Wings’ sweep has led them to the foetid world of Dulcis, dangerously near to the Cicatrix Maledictum itself.

excellent blood angels book for the indomitus era
Reviewed: 03-26-25
the story is understandably short because of the nature astoraths missions, and making a book twice as long would feel like it was dragging on.
I would say it's the perfect length.
the human characters are written well and Richard Reed is excellent as always.

Attached to Crusade Fleet Quintus - dubbed the Cursed Fleet by many - the Ultramarines of the Ithraca’s Vengeance are drawn to a stricken world. With millions enslaved, a malign necron technology siphons the souls of the innocent and heralds the Silent Kingdom’s expansion. The Ultramarines face an impossible decision: mount a desperate last stand to destroy the Pariah Nexus, or break away and damn the entire sector to bring word of this ancient foe’s resurgence to the only being capable of halting it - the Lord Primarch Roboute Guilliman.

(minor spoiler within) earliest encounter of one of the huge battlefronts of the indomitus crusade
Reviewed: 03-21-25
(minor spoiler) I'm not sure if the review spoils it, but this might be the earliest encounters of the pariah nexus.
the story is good and the characters grow and learn which is nice. a good listen overall.
if you're like me and have just finished another series of books and not sure where to go. then this is a good book to take a break and get a breather.

the YouTube videos of the daemonculaba was more gory than the actual story
Reviewed: 11-13-24
the daemonculaba wasn't as gory as most nurgle books. only the knowledge of it happening to women and the horror of the flesh camps happening to people with just a sliver of sanity left after the ordeal.
despite knowing what the horror would be, the story was still good and the voice actor was good as well.
the build up of gradual disgust made it so that it was hard to point out which part was the goriest...
the characters in the book was great and that it follows what happened in the iron warriors book at the siege of hydracordatus(?) was just splendid :)
great book. give it a shot if you're going to read the Uriel Ventris books anyway.

great voice actor and great insight into the Damocles wars and how the emperium and Tau learn about each other
Reviewed: 08-20-24
the voice actor is great and works great for the main factions. the characters are learning about their opponents for the first time. only having heard of their opponents in most cases.
the audiobook is 4 smaller books in one, that together shows a good view of the war for the Damocles Gulf.
the human, space marine, Tau and other alien perspectives are shown and it is fascinating.
there were only rare cases where the story had a little dip in the quality so I would rate it 9.5/10 overall 👌

great stories from (probably/almost) all the races

Trazyn the infinite and his rival Orikan have a heated exchange! if the characters in the other stories are as storied as those rivals, then this collection is a must have!
Death Watch, Aeldari/Drukhari, and the T'au story are all ones that I'll have to look into. I know that the T'au one is linked to the Damocles war and those I have on my wish list.
anyways. All the stories were great glimpses of the universe!
