Brendon does a great job talking to you rather than reading to you, and it really feels like he's right there with you. This is an audiobook that I'll listen to again. It's inspiring and practical!

The most memorable takeaway is to take the approach of praying and leading simultaneously. Not praying then leading or leading then praying. This is so good to recognize that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength (all the time when we remember that He is always with us). The author gave some practical exercises to implement too. Overall, it was a good read/listen!

If adoption comes to mind, this is a good resource

This is the first book that I've read on adoption. I've thought about it for a long time. Like most of the books that become my favorite, I don't remember how I came across it. You'll want to add this to your reading list if adoption has ever come to your mind, for you or someone else, or if it hasn't so that you can learn your place in being pro-adoption. God can call you to be an adoptive parent or He can also call you to be influential in the lives of other people who will be. The author is a pastor. He is super honest about the process leading up to him adopting his two boys and shares a lot of details that made me search my heart. Here's a few things that I remember him sharing regarding adoption options and things to consider: choosing domestic or international, foster care options, interracial, health, and gender "options" to consider, morals about in vitro fertilization (IVF), how the church family should be encouraging an adoption culture, how Christians are adopted into God's family, getting over the "my kids" and "adopted kids" labels, how to answer people and your children honestly/appropriately about their adoption, how to make your children feel that they belong by truly making them part of your family.....and more....all it points to trusting God wherever you are in the process ❤

This past year has brought me face to face with some challenging experiences of rejection. Kait covers all the areas that, as women, we have to move forward through. I pre-ordered this book because Kait's Heart of Dating podcast has been a blessing in my life! A lot of the chapters echoed what she openly talks about on her podcast. It's some raw, super encouraging content over the topic of rejection that doesn't get talked about enough!

I heard about this book listening to the Girl's Night podcast by Stephanie May Wilson! Trying my best to summarize the three "feelers" ... - 1) Being self aware of emotions and empathizing with others takes greater effort if you are a "reluctant feeler" (someone who mostly identifies as being fair minded and a peacemaker). 2) A "steady feeler" is someone who mostly identifies as being logical while being aware of emotions but not letting them rule. 3) "Big feelers" are people who mostly identify as being highly emotional and keen to expressing themselves, though often letting their emotions lead. All have strengths and weaknesses that point to how we need each other as the body of Christ! The majority of the book addresses "big feelers" but overall I'd recommend if you are looking to grow in understanding your own emotions and how to better relate to others!

This quote summarizes it well! "We can't merely forget our past and throw away our broken pieces in some remote forest. Things have happened to each one of us. The broken parts of our lives can become the most beautiful aspects of who we are if we are willing to pick up the pieces and bind them back together with strength, passion, and ingenuity. This is a true for you and me as individuals as it is for our community and our country. We're broken but we can be stronger and more beautiful than we've ever been. We can choose unity."

The initial chapters were a little hard to get through only because a lot of it was a familiar repetition for me. I'm glad to have finished it! There are a lot of real life stories from the authors' clients that added personal depth to the points being made. It was definitely a psychological approach to giving tips for having healthy boundries in dating. If you're looking for a book to expand your knowledge on ways to improve your self awareness and expectations, give it a listen/read :)
