Story
His passport read Giovanni Rossi. But decades ago, during the Urban Wars, he was part of a small, secret organization called The Twelve. Responding to an urgent summons from an old compatriot, he landed in New York and eased into the waiting car. And died within minutes… Lieutenant Eve Dallas finds the Rossi case frustrating. She’s got an elderly victim who’d just arrived from Rome; a widow who knows nothing about why he’d left; an as-yet unidentifiable weapon; and zero results on facial recognition.

Great audio book from JD Robb/Nora Roberts and Susan Erickson. #60

Action twists and lots of computers working to solve this case Roark's friend and father figure plus 7 more spy's for Great Britain who served with honor in the recent past war on earth. It's hard to believe this is #60 of the full length books. I was hooked from #1 Naked in Death. Great writing JD/Nora. Looking forward to the move into their extended families new house and the birth of baby #2 in the next book.

Story
Midwestern librarian Letitia Thornquist didn't have the right stuff to run Thornquist Gear, Inc. That was the opinion of Joel Blackstone, the seasoned CEO who had built the small Seattle sporting goods store into an industry giant. But Letty's Uncle Charlie willed her the company, and now she was bubbling with enthusiasm to have Joel, a perfect mentor, show her the ropes. Teaching her the business was all Joel grudgingly planned to do... until the sensuous curves under Letty's navy suit and the unabashed desire in her wide, innocent eyes left him longing for a personal kind of merger.

I liked these short stories. 9 books under 23 hrs. I would not have purchased if not in a box set for good price. I enjoyed this series although would have been better more developed story lines and dramatic reading.

Story
On a hot August night, Lt. Eve Dallas and her husband, Roarke, speed through the streets of Manhattan to the Down and Dirty club, where a joyful, boisterous pre-wedding girls’ night out has turned into a murder scene. One of the brides lies in a pool of blood, garroted in a private room where she was preparing a surprise for her fiancée—two scrimped and saved-for tickets to Hawaii. Despite the dozens of people present, useful witnesses are hard to come by. It all brings back some bad memories for Eve.

Such a great story teller, with twists and turns along the way. Keeps me entertained and away from TV news. That's why I have all of JD Robb/Nora Roberts books on audible. I prefer listening to books more than watching movies.

Story
I’m Val Thorvald, and I’m an assassin. When magical bad guys hurt people, I take care of them. Permanently. This doesn’t make me popular with the rest of the magical community — as you can tell from the numerous break-ins and assassination attempts I’ve endured over the years. But thanks to my half-elven blood, a powerful sword named Chopper, and a telepathic tiger with an attitude, I’ve always been able to handle my problems with aplomb. Maybe some cursing and swearing, too, but definitely aplomb.

Toby Cynster is not amused when informed that his new mission is to be his last in the shadowy service of Drake, Marquess of Winchelsea. Courtesy of Toby being the last unmarried Cynster of his generation and the consequent martial obsession of his female relatives, he will be given no more excuses to avoid society and, instead, expected to devote himself to finding a suitable bride. But Toby sees no point in marrying—thanks to his siblings, he has plenty of nephews and nieces with whom to play favorite uncle, and he has no thoughts of establishing a family of his own.

Great third book in audio format and 8 more to hopefully be converted to audiobooks soon. A new local artist gallery to open, a wedding, the melding of college students and high schoolers into a loving family. Letting go of a 30 year marriage and moving on. A life changing traffic accident with the wife fighting to keep her husband and toddler together long distance. A new toddler and a surprise pregnancy for another couple who live through the changes together. All survive with the help of families neighbors and friends. Ok where is the next audiobook? I’m now following Julia Clemens to be notified when the next book is on audible!

I rarely read books but I listen to audio books everyday. I like series so I can become involved with everyday life in the community. I don’t like to watch tv but I love to turn the tv news on mute, play solitaire, and listen to books especially with my new blue tooth hearing aids. I never feel bored with books, the outdoor life from the patio, learning to cook new healthier recipes. I can order anything I want on line when the weather is bad and give my allergies a break with so many others shopping. Starting a new series is always a joy to me and I can’t wait to start the next in the series. I have two more to listen to and maybe more of the series will be turned into audio books soon.
