Throw it in the bin, pour the alcohol on it, and light it up. Her career is O-V-E-R. On second thought, save the alcohol. It’ll be good for the pity-party later. Charlotte’s moved back home to sleepy (and so dang hot) rural East Texas to take care of her aging grandmother. And that means her life passion of archaeological digs and carbon-dating unearthed artifacts in exotic locales is at an end. Teaching high-school History is a job she could do blind-folded and hands-tied. Which is why, when a budding romance with her hot cop neighbor comes up, it’s the perfect distraction. But, when...

This book did not disappoint! I love the way Ms. Tucker balances Abby's naiveté and growing confidence as her experiences in life grow and mature. The steady steam builds over and over again to a mind-blowing climax and satisfying conclusion. Give me more K.A. Tucker!

Story
As the war begins, Hanna Rombauer, a young German woman, is sent to live with her aunt and uncle after her mother’s death. Thrown into a life of luxury she never expected, Hanna soon finds herself unwillingly matched with an SS officer twenty years her senior. The independence that her mother lovingly fostered in her is considered highly inappropriate as the future wife of an up-and-coming officer and she is sent to a “bride school.” There, in a posh villa on the outskirts of town, Hanna is taught how to be a “proper” German wife.

A Gripping Story on Unsuspecting Friends

I've read dozens of stories about about World War II and the roles that women have played. These 3 young ladies young women share their journey's from youth to adulthood and the strict requirements they are expected to uphold.Fascinating, heartfelt, And so very true. Wonderfully told and performed. I would call this a do not miss read. The details of the war and the unjust manner of how everyone was treated is not graphic in design which makes this an excellent read for anyone.

I love this narrator! Great combination of inflection, sensitivity and versatility. The story was very cool in that it takes you on a journey through a women's young, complicated life in 2 different versions of herself. Super cool. Loved both versions. Fast, fun read.

I’ve done direct sales for a variety of different products and was moderately successful in each of them. But after going back to a regular full-time job, I realized that I was always going to be building someone else’s dream and not my own. I’ve just gone back to direct sales with a product I believe in 100% and I am pumped up after hearing this book and seeing all the small mistakes that I had made in the past and how to overcome them to be even more successful in this next new chapter of my life. GREAT LISTEN!

Story
Bankers, philanthropists, scholars, socialites, artists, and politicians, the Warburgs stood at the pinnacle of German (and, later, German American) Jewry. They forged economic dynasties, built mansions and estates, assembled libraries, endowed charities, and advised a German kaiser and two American presidents. But their very success made the Warburgs lightning rods for anti-Semitism, and their sense of patriotism became increasingly dangerous in a Germany that had declared Jews the enemy.

This book was very interesting! The details with Cher- and concise as well as anecdotal. I’m going to read some history perspective. However, the Narrator pronounced so many words incorrectly that it was to the point of distraction.and frustration! Learn how to pronounce Jewish names and institutions please!

Melissa is delighted when she’s asked to help put on a play at her favorite local Cotswolds hotel. There’s nothing she loves more than getting to know the cast, who are just as colorful behind the scenes as they are onstage. Rehearsals are running smoothly until the perpetually grumpy supporting actor is found spread-eagle at the bottom of a steep flight of stairs leading to a cellar. As Melissa tries in vain to save his life, she is sure she can hear voices nearby and suspects there is more to this accident than meets the eye.
